AAU Basketball Tournament Volunteers Needed

Clarksville, TN – Volunteers are needed for the 2011 Amateur Athletic Union (AAU) 7th Grade Girls’ Basketball National Championship, hosted by the Clarksville-Montgomery County Convention and Visitors Bureau, which will be held from Sunday, July 10th to Friday, July 15th.
This year, the tournaments will take place during the week at 12 different venues throughout the community. Volunteers are needed on Sunday during the day for registration and at 6:00pm to help line up athletes and work the opening ceremony. Responsibilities during the week-long tournaments will include checking player passes, selling tickets and programs and taking tickets. Clarksville To Host 2011 Miss Tennessee USA Pageants This Week

Clarksville, TN – Clarksville will host 97 young women competing in the upcoming 2011 Miss Tennessee USA and Teen USA pageants.
Both events will take place at the Austin Peay State University Music and Mass Communications Building on October 15th and 16th, 2010. This will be Clarksville’s eleventh year hosting the pageants.
Theresa Harrington, Director of the Convention and Visitors Bureau said, “We are looking forward to hosting the pageants and welcoming the delegates, their families and supporters to Clarksville-Montgomery County. There are delegates competing from all over the state of Tennessee and we are happy to have them here to experience our community.”

Benefit concert to raise money for flood victims

The Clarksville Area Chamber of Commerce has organized the benefit concert to assist the businesses and employees of businesses affected by the recent flood. The Clarksville Area Chamber of Commerce has organized a benefit concert to assist the victims of the recent flood. “People Helping People” will take place Saturday, May 22nd, 2010 from 4:00 pm until 9:30 pm at Beachaven Winery & Vineyards. The concert is free and open to the public, however donations are welcome.
