Clarksville-Montgomery County Veterans Day Parade to be held November 6th

Montgomery County Veterans Service OrganizationMontgomery County, TN – The Clarksville-Montgomery County Veterans Day Parade will take place on Saturday, November 6th, with pre-parade ceremonies set for 9:00am in front of the historic courthouse (south side) on Third Street in downtown Clarksville.

The keynote speaker is U.S. Army retired Colonel Vernon Lightner, who now serves as the JROTC Director of Army Instruction for the Clarksville-Montgomery County School System.

This year’s Veterans Day parade theme is “Salute to Veterans in Education.”

Customs House Museum & Cultural Center opens exhibit “Start Your Engines! A Celebration of Racing in Montgomery County”

Customs House Museum & Cultural CenterClarksville, TN – After over a year-and-a-half of planning, the long-anticipated, heart-thumping, high-octane exhibit Start Your Engines! A Celebration of Racing in Montgomery County is open at the Customs House Museum & Cultural Center.

The exhibit is sponsored by Tri-Star Beverage and MPG Transport and spans across several galleries within the Museum.

Clarksville Parks and Recreation Summer Youth Program to feature Activity Packs, Virtual Programming

Clarksville Parks and Recreation DepartmentClarksville, TN – Clarksville Parks and Recreation Department will not host an in-person Summer Youth Program this year to ensure the safety of the public during the COVID-19 Coronavirus outbreak. However, plans have been finalized for a free “virtual” summer camp experience!

The virtual camp will be June 1st to July 10th and will consist of two components: weekly activity packs that children can enjoy at home, and virtual programming which will be shared online and on the Clarksville Community Network. Children can participate in one or both components.
