Clarksville, TN – The weekly Clarksville Parks and Recreation Department Recreation Report provides Clarksvillians with a glimpse at the activities and events that are available from the Parks and Recreation Department for them to enjoy together as a family.
This weeks highlights include: 2016 Queen City Road Race Art Contest Winner Announced, Kleeman Center offers new session of visual healing arts program, New Salsa Dance Class, and Registration is underway for Youth Recreation Leagues.
Winner of the 2016 Queen City Road Race Art Contest Announced

Clarksville, TN – Clarksville Parks and Recreation and Cumberland Bank and Trust are excited to announce the winners of the 2016 Queen City Road Race Art Contest.
Congratulations to Kayli Rhodes, First Place winner and 5th grade student at Montgomery Central Elementary.

Clarksville Christian Concert Choir Invited to Perform at Disneyworld

Clarksville, TN – The concert choir at Clarksville Christian School auditioned for and was invited to perform in the Christmas Candlelight Processional concert at Walt Disney World for two performances on December 4th, 2015.
The Christmas Candlelight Processional is the largest show in the parks for the Christmas season. They will join with other choirs and a professional orchestra to sing twelve songs, including a finale of the Hallelujah Chorus from Handel’s Messiah.
Clarksville Zombie Hunters, “A Zombie Paintball Hayride Experience”

Cunningham, TN – We are pleased to announce the newest, most exciting attraction to come to the Clarksville area.
Clarksville Zombie Hunters is a haunted hayride styled attraction opening September 25th – November 2nd, 2014, every Thursday, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday night at dark.
Patrons ride on a trailer through the zombie infested woods and hunt down the walking dead with turret-mounted paintball guns.
Clarksville Christian School Gains Additional Accreditation Status

Clarksville, TN – The world’s largest educational accrediting organization has announced that Clarksville Christian School (CCS) has been granted formal accreditation by its governing body.
AdvancED (formerly SACS—Southern Association of Colleges and Schools) recently notified CCS of its decision. This most recent accreditation now makes CCS a dually accredited school, having also received accreditation from the Association of Christian Schools International (ACSI) last July.
Clarksville Christian School Adds School Counselor

Clarksville, TN – Clarksville Christian School is pleased to announce the addition of a school guidance counselor, Mrs. Yvette Childs. Mrs. Childs received her Bachelor of Science degree in Middle School Education and her Master of Arts in Guidance and Counseling from Murray State University.
She has nine years experience as an educator, including five years as a teacher in the middle grades, and four years as a middle school counselor with the Clarksville Montgomery County School System.
Clarksville Christian School Gains Accreditation Status

From the inception of Clarksville Christian School in 2007, the desire has been to strive for excellence. CCS has undergone an intensive and rigorous five-year process to earn this distinction.
34th Annual Queen City Road Race results are in

Clarksville, TN – The results are in for the 34th Annual Queen City Road Race presented by Clarksville Parks and Recreation Department and Cumberland Bank & Trust. The 5K race, 5K relay race and non-competitive One Mile Movement took place Sunday, May 6th at Austin Peay State University.
This year’s Queen City Road Race welcomed nearly 2,000 participants!

Clarksville Christian School to Host Spirit Of Christmas

Music Program will showcase middle school students
Clarksville, TN – Sixth, seventh and eighth grade students at Clarksville Christian School will host The Spirit of Christmas musical program Tuesday, December 13th from 6:30pm-7:00pm in the auditorium of Hilldale Church of Christ.
Students will perform Christmas classics and feature the ladies trio of “Winter Wonderland,” Boomwhackers®, bell choir, and recorder players. [Read more]
Clarksville Christian School Announces Stanford Achievement Scores

Students’ scores place school above national Average
Clarksville, TN – Students at Clarksville Christian School (CCS,) have achieved Stanford standardized test scores that place CCS at or above national average.
Stanford test scores are broken down into “Stanine” (ˈstā-ˌnīn\) scores. A Stanine of 1, 2, or 3 indicates the student is performing below average, a Stanine of 4, 5, or 6 indicates the student is performing on an average level, and a Stanine of 7, 8, or 9 indicates the student is performing above average. The majority of students at CCS scored a 7, 8, or 9 in both Reading/Language Arts and Mathematics. [Read more]
