Clarksville, TN – Austin Peay State University Athletics department’s Echo Power Engineering Governors Golf Classic fundraiser, presented by Hand Family Companies and the APSU Governors Club, is set for Friday, June 23rd, 2017 at the Clarksville Country Club and Swan Lake Golf Course.
The annual event serves a fundraiser to support student-athletes through scholarships, facility improvements and academic support. Teams can register for the four-player, best-ball scramble for $400.00, with hole sponsorships (which include both course) available for $500.00.
Junior Auxiliary of Clarksville to host Cheers for Charity, April 29th

Clarksville, TN – Junior Auxiliary of Clarksville will host the 6th annual Cheers for Charity wine tasting from 6:00pm until 10:00pm, Saturday, April 29th, at Sango Event Center.
Cheers for Charity is a blind tasting where teams of two are invited to bring three bottles of the same wine. Upon check-in, two bottles are bagged and numbered for tasting, while the third is set aside to be awarded as part of the Grand Prize. At the end of the evening, the winners of Best Taste will be announced and receive the Grand Prize.

Clarksville, TN – On Saturday, May 9th, Hilltop Supermarket held a Spring Festival event, “Karing for Kenai”. The event was a fundraiser for Kenai Payes Langley who was diagnosed with a rare form of cancer.
Kenai is a beautiful 13 year-old-young lady who lives in Clarksville, TN, with her mother and older sister, Hailey. Kenai is battling Stage 3 Clear Cell Adenocarcinoma Cancer. She has 8 tumors in the surrounding areas of her reproductive system.
Clarksville’s 9th Annual ‘Frolic on Franklin’ Set for September 13th

Clarksville, TN – Downtown Clarksville’s 9th Annual “Frolic on Franklin: A Celebration of the Arts” will take place Saturday, September 13th from 8:30am-3:30pm.
The free event will showcase the works of more than 30 artists, staged entertainment, art demonstrations, and a doggie fashion show – all along the 100 block of historic Franklin Street.
A variety of original fine art, as well as handmade crafts, will be on display including paintings and photography, jewelry, clay garden items, wood work, purses and fabric accessories, pottery, candles, jewelry, woven and knitted items, and seasonal gifts. Items will be for sale with prices ranging from $2.00 – $500.00.

History honor society represents Austin Peay State University well at National Conference

Clarksville, TN – Deanna Carter, an Austin Peay State University history graduate student, felt a little like a celebrity. Whenever she walked through the lobby of the Hilton at Orlando’s Walt Disney World resort, people would stop their conversations and glance over at it.
Their attention was likely focused on her gray blazer, which had the words “Austin Peay State University Phi Alpha Theta History Honor Society” stitched across the front.
“There were people from as far as California there and from some very prestigious schools, such as Carnegie Melon University, and they all knew us,” Carter said.
Benefit concert to raise money for flood victims
