Clarksville Department of Parks and Recreation Facilities’ Hours to Change in Observance of upcoming Holidays

Clarksville, TN – The City of Clarksville’s three community centers will adjust their hours of operation this December to accommodate students in the Clarksville-Montgomery County School System and their holiday schedule.
The Kleeman, Crow and Burt-Cobb Centers will be open from 10:00am to 7:00pm beginning Friday, December 19th and ending Friday, January 2nd, 2015 as students will be out of school for the holiday break. [Read more]
Clarksville Parks and Recreation invites you to come out and enjoy free activities at Christmas on the Cumberland

Clarksville, TN – Children of all ages are encouraged to come to Christmas on the Cumberland for fun, family-friendly activities. Christmas on the Cumberland is open nightly from 5:00pm to 10:00pm Sunday through Thursday, and 5:00pm to 11:00pm Fridays and Saturdays through January 3rd, 2015. Admission to the event is free.
Activities will take place from 6:00pm to 8:00pm, this Friday and Saturday, December 19th and 20th.

Junior Auxiliary of Clarksville takes part in Giving on the Cumberland

Those visiting the Christmas on the Cumberland light displays may swing by the McGregor Park Museum and take an ornament from Junior Auxiliary’s Christmas tree. Ornaments on the Junior Auxiliary tree list items that will help fill the Healthy Kids Kits that the ladies of Junior Auxiliary provide to 100 students in the Clarksville-Montgomery County School System. Clarksville, TN – The City of Clarksville held their 55th Annual Lighted Christmas Parade on Saturday, December 6th, 2014. The theme for this year was “A Storybook Christmas”.
The parade is hosted by the City of Clarksville and Montgomery County Government, and made possible by the support of Agero. And the other sponsors.

Clarksville, TN – In recent weeks, the U.S. stock market has reacted negatively to bad economic news out of Japan, China, and the euro area and positively to efforts by the corresponding central banks to spur growth. The European Central Bank did not make that extra effort on Thursday.
After strong hints that quantitative easing is on the way, the ECB’s Governing Council disappointed by failing to launch QE. ECB President Draghi indicated that further extraordinary measures could be employed “if needed.” The ECB staff and euro systems have stepped up technical preparations for QE, but Draghi seemed to suggest that there is no haste toward QE.

Clarksville, TN – Have yourself a cynical little Christmas … David Sedaris’ hilarious one-man show “The Santaland Diaries” plays the Roxy Regional Theatre’s theotherspace for four nights only, December 8th – December 16th.
In Joe Mantello’s adaptation of Sedaris’ acclaimed satirical essay, Ryan Bowie stars as an out-of-work actor who decides to become a Macy’s elf during the holiday crunch. At first the job is simply humiliating, but once the thousands of visitors start pouring through Santa’s workshop, he becomes battle weary and cynical, occasionally taking out his frustrations on the children and parents alike.
