Hilldale Baptist Church to hold “The Living Christmas Tree – A Christmas Celebration” beginning December 7th

Clarksville, TN – This weekend, the Hilldale Baptist Church will put on three presentations of “The Living Christmas Tree – A Christmas Celebration”. The event is free and open to the public.
The idea behind this year’s “tree” is a fun variety show a la the golden age of TV variety shows—like Lawrence Welk or Ed Sullivan.

At 7:30pm on December 7th, he’s bringing all these elements together for a special holiday concert, “My Favorite Things,” at the APSU Music/Mass Communication Building’s Mabry Concert Hall. [Read more]

He went on this journey after meeting Baiba Kelley, a local woman of Latvian descent who yearned to again hear the music of her native country.

Salvation Army announces its “Adopt an Angel” holiday gift giving Tree

Clarksville TN – The Salvation Army announces it’s Adopt an Angel Tree program to make a child happy this Holiday Season, beginning Friday November 9th.
The annual holiday gift giving program, for families less fortunate, allows you to select a paper Angel at any one of the area “Angel Trees” then buy clothes, toys or a gift for that child. Then, return that gift to the place of business where you got your Angel, along with the paper Angel securely attached to the gift, no later than Monday, December 10th. [Read more]
Entries now being accepted for the 53rd Annual Christmas Parade

Clarksville, TN – The City of Clarksville and Montgomery County Government have partnered with Agero to host the 53rd Annual Christmas Parade.
The parade will be a night-time, lighted Christmas parade and is scheduled for December 1st, 2012 beginning at 5:00pm.
This year’s parade will feature both the Austin Peay State University Governors Own Marching Band and the Tennessee State University Band, dozens of businesses and organizations, as well as Santa Claus.
The Mill to hold Grand Opening Saturday, September 22nd

Clarksville, TN – The Mill, located at 1101 Dover Road, will have their Grand Opening Saturday, September 22nd, 2012 from 10:00am to 6:00pm. There will be live music, a chainsaw carving show, performance by Northwest High School’s Pom Squad, delicious food, games, and door prizes.
Lylewood Inn will also be there selling some great food. Menu will include chicken and dumplings, pork tenderloin sliders, and beans and cornbread.
Montgomery County announces Volunteer Stars Award Recipients

Montgomery County, TN – Congratulations go to H. Lynn Hunter and Trinity Beard for being selected the Montgomery County recipients for the 2011 Governor’s Volunteer Stars Awards.
Hunter and Beard will be recognized, along with other recipients from across the state, at a reception in Nashville on February 27th and both will be honored tonight during the February County commission meeting with proclamations from County Mayor Carolyn Bowers.
