Mid-South Sociological Association invites Austin Peay’s Ogbonna-McGruder to discuss her book at annual conference

Clarksville, TN – Earlier this month, Dr. Chinyere Ogbonna-McGruder, Austin Peay State University professor of public management and criminal justice, accepted an invitation to North Charleston, South Carolina, to discuss her 2009 book, “Voices from the Inside: Case Studies from a Tennessee Women’s Prison,” at the Mid-South Sociological Association’s 42nd Annual Conference.

Clarksville, TN – Faculty and staff members at Austin Peay State University recently announced a number of publications, conferences and credentials as part of their professional and scholarly activities.
Michele Tyndall, project manager in the APSU Office of Public Relations and Marketing, and Dr. Melony Shemberger, former assistant director of communication at APSU, will present a session at The Council for Advancement and Support Education’s District III Conference in Orlando, FL, this February. Shemberger now is assistant professor of journalism at Murray State University. [Read more]

Blanck, emeritus professor of chemistry, had an article, titled “Using Plastic Models Designed to Produce Large Height to Length Ratio Steady State Planar and Axisymmetric (Radial) Viscous Liquid Laminar Flow Gravity Currents,” published in the most recent edition of the Journal of Chemical Education. Sherry Kendrick, technical clerk in the Office of the Registrar, received the PeayFormance Customer Service Award. The Enrollment Management and Academic Support will present the award quarterly to a professional or clerical staff member nominated by his or her peers as exemplifying service above and beyond the call of duty to APSU students, faculty and the general campus community.
