Montgomery County, TN – The latest business to become Clarksville-Montgomery County Green Certified is Legends Bank.
Billy Atkins, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Legends Bank, began the celebration by thanking all the employees. He gave special mention to Britney Campbell, their VP of Marketing. “Britney is the one who drove this effort, she told us what to do and we listened,” he joked.

Clarksville, TN – The B. R. Miller and Co., Inc. General Contractors received their Green Certification during a Green Ribbon Cutting Ceremony attended by the Montgomery County Mayor Carolyn Bowers at their offices on December 18th just a week before Christmas.
The ceremony celebrated their successful implementation of green initiatives and completion of the Clarksville-Montgomery County Green Certification Program.

Clarksville, TN – Austin Peay State University will send off 686 candidates for degrees during dual Fall Commencement ceremonies December 14th in the Dunn Center.
Dr. Mary Lou Witherspoon, professor of mathematics and the 2012 APSU National Alumni Association Distinguished Professor Award recipient, will be the keynote speaker at both commencement events.
The faculty member who earns the University’s prestigious Distinguished Professor Award in May serves as commencement speaker at APSU’s fall graduation. [Read more]
Registration begins soon for the Riverfest Tour d’Art Exhibits and Competition

Clarksville, TN – This year’s competition will feature the following three exhibits: Amateur & Professional Divisions, High School Division, and the Senior Citizens’ Division. Artwork is displayed at exhibits at various locations in downtown Clarksville, and then juried, and over $2,500 in prizes is awarded.
The Amateur & Professional Division exhibit will be hosted at the Smith-Trahern Mansion September 7th from 10:00am-8:00pm and September 8th from 10:00am-5:00pm. Artists may enter in six categories: Painting & Watercolor, Drawing, 3D/Fiber Arts, Mixed Media & Print Collage, Digital Photography and Film Photography.
Austin Peay State University Summer Commencement to graduate 350 students August 10th

Clarksville, TN – Austin Peay State University will award degrees to approximately 350 students during its 83rd Summer Commencement on Friday, August 10th in the Dunn Center.
Commencement will begin at 2:00pm. Doors will open at 1:00pm for guests.
In addition, three students enrolled as cadets in the University’s Reserve Officers’ Training Corps (ROTC) will be commissioned as U.S. Army officers at the conclusion of the ceremony. [Read more]

CDE Lightband to Read Meters this Saturday

Clarksville, TN – CDE Lightband plans to read meter routes on Saturday, January 7th between 8:00am and 3:00pm. This is to help keep monthly billing cycles as close to 30 days as possible.
Routes to read include the following areas: Burch road, Batts Lane, Britton Springs, Fort Campbell Boulevard (even side), Wallace Glen Apartments, Notgrass Road, Stateline Road, and Belleglade Trailer Park.

City of Clarksville Revenue Collections Office extends hours and accepts local utility bill payments

Clarksville, TN – Beginning Monday, October 3rd, 2011 the City of Clarksville Finance and Revenue Department will have extended office hours of 7:30am to 5:00pm in their Revenue Collections Office in order to better serve its citizens and make it more convenient for them to pay their property taxes and utility bills.
The Revenue Collections Office is located in the first floor of the City Hall building at One Public Square. The office collects revenue for property tax, personal property tax, general billings and parking tickets. [Read more]
Half Marathon to offer Physically Impaired Divisions

Montgomery County, TN – The Go Commando Half Marathon and 5k presented by CDE Lightband will feature two new race divisions. A physically impaired division and a wheelchair division will be offered in both the half marathon and 5k. This will be the first time both divisions are offered in a half marathon in Clarksville.
These physically impaired divisions will allow disabled athletes to compete along the same route as other half marathon and 5k divisions. Both will offer awards to all participants as well as Top Finisher awards overall and in age groups. Participants are required to register through paper registration for both divisions to ensure proper placement. [Read more]
