Rivers and Spires continues tonight in Downtown Clarksville

Rivers and Spires FestivalClarksville, TN – Clarksville’s Rivers and Spires Festival begins tonight, Friday, April 17th at 5:00pm. Come out and music, artistic exhibits, thrilling competitions, and vendor booths.

The Northeast High School Exit One and JV Show Choirs will start things off on the Courthouse Stage at 5:00pm. Also at 5:00pm, Khamsin will be on the Strawberry Alley Stage, Few Miles On will play on the Public Square Stage and The Art of Hula will be on the Main and Third Stage.

Gamers Get Their Own Area At Rivers and Spires’ Gig City Gaming Area

Rivers and Spires FestivalClarksville, TN – Video game aficionados have a place to unite, unwind and show their gaming skills at this year’s Rivers and Spires Festival.

For the second year, the Festival will be bringing a free, fully interactive gaming area to the underground parking garage located on Franklin Street. Gig City Gaming, presented by CDE Lightband, will feature over 50 titles and will cater to over 30,000 gamers. Tons of gaming will be available for everyone to enjoy on systems including the Xbox 360, Xbox One, Play Station 3 and Play Station 4.

Manna Café Ministries “Manna Madness” is going on now

Manna Café MinistriesClarksville, TN – Manna Café Ministries announces Manna Madness, a 31-day event to raise awareness about and take action against hunger in the Clarksville area. The past few weeks have caused many Montgomery County workplaces to close, and, as a result, people have less money to put food on the table.

For the entire month of March, Manna Café will be collecting food and monetary donations to ensure we have enough food on our shelves to meet the needs in our community.

Clarksville Parks and RecreationClarksville, TN – Due to an overwhelming response, the 2nd annual Back to School Splash has reached registration capacity.

The Back to School Splash will provide free school supplies and a fun pool party to a total of 600, upcoming Kindergarten-12th graders, at the New Providence Pool and Beachaven Pool on August 2nd, from 6:00pm to 8:00pm.

Austin Peay State University adds solar canopy to 9th Street parking lot

Austin Peay State University - APSUClarksville, TN – On sunny afternoons, the electric meter attached to the Austin Peay State University Hemlock Semiconductor Building won’t be breaking any speed records.

That’s because, in addition to the solar panels on the building’s roof, a new solar parking canopy in the neighboring 9th Street parking lot will feed even more of the sun’s energy into the electrical system, keeping utility costs down.

Clarksville’s Rivers and Spires Gig City Gaming center an experience not to be missed

April 26, 2014

Rivers and Spires FestivalClarksville, TN – On Friday, April 25th, CDE Lightband held a kick off event for their Gig City Gaming center at the Rivers and Spires Festival. The gaming center is powered by CDE’s new gigabit internet service. All games are free to play.

Before the ceremony, Montgomery County Mayor Carolyn Bowers and Clarksville Mayor Kim McMillan faced off on Dance Dance Revolution. They both had a good with this gaming experience.
