Mic Check Monday concert to be held June 17th

Clarksville, TN – On June 17th, the free Mic Check Monday concert series will feature Folk, Classic Rock at Downtown Commons.
The Stuart Bonnington Band will open the event at 6:00pm. This acoustic group presents an extensive repertoire of British Invasion music (Beatles, Kinks,etc), plus American tunes from that same era.
Clarksville Parks and Recreation’s Movies in the Park to show Beauty and the Beast” June 8th

Clarksville’s Heritage Park will host free Movie Screening, Vendors, and Fun.
Clarksville, TN – Clarksville Parks and Recreations free outdoor movie series Movies in the Park to be held this Saturday, June 8th, 2019 with the showing of “Beauty and the Beast” at Heritage Park located at 1241 Peachers Mill Road.
Pre-show activities, coordinated by the Clarksville Parks and Recreation Department, will begin at 6:30pm and include a demonstration using liquid nitrogen by Austin Peay State University’s College of STEM.

The event, now in it’s fifth year, has added two new exhibits to honor veterans and first responders. The community is invited to participate in dozens of events and activities and show their appreciation.

Clarksville’s Welcome Home Celebration has added Never Forget Mobile Exhibit, Traveling Korean War Memorial for 2019.
Visit Clarksville Announces New Free Summer Music Series

City of Clarksville to celebrate Arbor Day on April 5th

Clarksville, TN – The City of Clarksville will celebrate Arbor Day by planting two poplar trees at 11:00am on Friday, April 5th, 2019 at Barksdale Elementary School, 1920 Madison Street.
The trees to be planted have been donated by the Clarksville Tree Board.

F2 Con Gaming Convention Coming to Clarksville for Second Year

Clarksville, TN – Visit Clarksville, CDE Lightband and Clarksville Parks and Recreation will host Clarksville’s second competitive gaming tournament, F2 Con, Thursday-Saturday, April 18th-20th at the Wilma Rudolph Event Center.
The three-day competition offers tournament play, casual gaming, and fun for all ages with retro gaming, vendors and live streaming. All gaming will take place on CDE Lightband’s gigabit internet.
Clarksville Film Festival screening set for March 9th

Clarksville, TN – Celebrate local filmmakers with Clarksville Parks and Recreation and the Roxy Regional Theatre at a public screening from 5:00pm-7:00pm Saturday, March 9th, 2019 as part of the Clarksville Film Festival.
Earlier this month, 11 teams were given 52 hours to script, shoot and produce a 4-7 minute film using predetermined lines and props.

Clarksville, TN – Beginning Wednesday, December 26th, 2018 the Clarksville Parks and Recreation Forestry Division, the Clarksville Tree Board, and the Clarksville Department of Electricity will offer Clarksville residents fresh-cut Christmas tree recycling at Heritage Park.

Clarksville Parks and Recreation urges residents to drop off trees at Heritage Park starting December 26th for recycling.
City of Clarksville staff joins United Way drive

Clarksville, TN – City of Clarksville employees competed Tuesday in the 2nd Annual United Way Field Day event to kick-off the annual workplace giving campaign.
Twelve six-member teams from across the City of Clarksville gathered at the Wilma Rudolph Events Center compete in nine “minute-to-win-it” games, including Ping Pong Shake, Elephant March and Balloon Pop. Team names were equally creative, including Blue Light Special, Killa Watts, Perfectly Balanced and Codes Crusaders.
