Clarksville Parks & Recreation facilities observe Memorial Day Holiday

Clarksville, TN – The Clarksville Parks & Recreation Main Office, located at 102 Public Square will be closed Monday, May 30th for the Memorial Day holiday. The Kleeman, Crow and Burt-Cobb Community Centers will also be closed Monday in observance of Memorial Day. [Read more]
Summer Youth Program to begin June 6th

Clarksville, TN – The City of Clarksville Parks and Recreation Department Summer Youth Program will begin June 6th with the opening of program sites and will end July 15th.
The Summer Youth Program is a six-week day camp-type program that is offered each summer to youths, ages 6-16. Gyms at various locations are staffed with directors and assistants, who will help with playtime activities and provide free, instructional classes such as dance and karate.
Men’s Basketball League to begin at Burt-Cobb Community Center

Clarksville, TN – Do you miss the days of bounding down the hardwood floors of a gymnasium? Well, the Clarksville Parks & Recreation department is hosting a Men’s Basketball League at the Burt-Cobb Community Center, located at 1011 Franklin Street.
Registration is currently under way at Burt-Cobb for men ages 18-years-old and up. [Read more]
Clarksville Senior Olympics start May 4th

“For the Health of it”
Clarksville, TN –Senior adults ages 50 and up can register now until May 2nd for the 2011 Clarksville Senior Olympics. This year’s events will be May 4th-7th at various locations around Clarksville, including The Swan Lake Sports Complex and Golf Course, Kleeman Community Center, The Pinnacle Bowling Center, and Burt-Cobb Community Center.
Seniors will face off for bragging rights, as well as medals in more than 20 challenging events, which include shuffleboard, tennis, track, golf, bowling, basketball free throw, pickle ball and billiards. Because we now have the Indoor Aquatic Center, swimming events have been added. [Read more]

Clarksville Parks & Recreation Youth League Coaches’ Meetings to be held April 11th-14th

Clarksville, TN – The Coaches’ meetings for the Clarksville Parks & Recreation’s Youth League will be held next week from 6:00pm – 8:00pm at the Burt-Cobb Community Center located at 1011 Franklin Street.
Coaches for ages 3-4 and 5-6 will meet April 11th, coaches for ages 7-8 and 9-10 will meet April 12th and coaches for ages 11-12 and 13-14 will meet April 14th. [Read more]

Clarksville Parks & Recreation’s Hershey Track & Field program to begin April 7th

Clarksville, TN – Young athletes can showcase their skills in track, long jump and softball throw in the 2011 Hershey Track & Field competition. This program is open to boys and girls ages 9 to 14 in the Clarksville-Montgomery County area.

City of Clarksville Parks & Recreation Department lines up activities for annual egg hunt

Clarksville, TN – The annual Spring Eggstravanganza will be back on April 23rd at Heritage Park Baseball Fields. The fun begins at 2:00pm with kids in four age groups hunting more than 30,000 eggs, hoping to find the one golden egg. The special egg entitles the finder to a free week session of swim lessons at one of Clarksville Parks and Recreation’s pools. Age groups; 2 years old and under, 3-5 years old, 6-8 years old, and 9-12 years old. [Read more]
