Dunbar Cave State Park Programs for June 4th through June 7th, 2013

Clarksville, TN – Dunbar Cave State Natural Area has been a State Park since 1973. The cave and its surrounding 110 acres have considerable scenic, natural and historical significance. The entrance offered shelter to prehistoric Native Americans as far back as 10,000 years.
Dunbar Cave State Natural Area will present many nature programs this summer. There are programs for children and adults.
Upcoming events include: Evening Nature Hike, Evening Nature Hike, National Trails Day, Sunrise Hike, Morning Nature Hike and Birding Port Royal.

Sleep Under the Stars at the Parks & Recreation Family Campout

Clarksville, TN – The City of Clarksville Parks and Recreation Department invites you to sleep under the stars at Billy Dunlop Park. Join us for a family camp out beginning at 2:00pm Saturday, May 21st, until 9:00am Sunday, May 22nd, at the park located at 1930 East Boy Scout Road.

Bird Watching at the Greenway

Clarksville, TN – The City of Clarksville Parks and Recreation Department invites you to join us at the Clarksville Greenway located at 1101 Pollard Road, Saturday, October 23rd from 8:00am-9:00am to learn birding basics and how to identify species of birds. This event is free and open to the public.
After bird watching, be sure to continue exploring the 3.6-mile trail which is part of the rails to trails initiative, envisioned to clear out old railroad tracks, converting them into trails. Since its opening in September of last year, Clarksville Greenway has added, any new features to include benches, swings, parking area, and will soon be opening a restroom facility located at the trail head.
