Inaugural Tri Clarksville Triathlon Coming in August

Clarksville Montgomery County Convention and Visitors BureauClarksville, TN – There is still time to register, and receive a discounted rate, for Clarksville’s inaugural Tri Clarksville Triathlon, coming up Saturday, August 23rd, 2014.

Hundreds of bikers, swimmers and runners will test their strength and ability along the Cumberland River and the roads of Montgomery County. The route will begin and end at Liberty Park and will consist of both Intermediate and Sprint races. [Read more]

This event is open to boys and girls ages 3-12 and will take place at New Providence Pool and surrounding area of 166 Cunningham Lane.

Clarksville Parks and RecreationClarksville, TN – The City of Clarksville’s Parks and Recreation department will hold a Public Involvement Workshop, Thursday, January 24th from 4:30pm to 6:30pm at the Parks and Recreation Main office for residents to learn more about two potential projects identified in the 1999 Greenways Master Plan, which will complete a major section of the city’s riverside pedestrian trail development initiative. Liberty Park Grand Opening this afternoon

Liberty Park - Clarksville MarinaClarksville, TN – Tuesday afternoon, October 23rd, Clarksville Mayor Kim McMillan will cut the ribbon marking the official grand opening of Liberty Park.

Activities will begin at 3:30pm and will conclude at 7:30pm. There will be face painting, a balloon artist, a display of some of the City’s fire and police vehicles, archery, performances by a local dance group and an exhibition by the Clarksville Police Department’s K-9 Unit.

The Walking Trails along the Cumberland River are part of the new Liberty Park which opens which has it's Grand Opening on Tuesday, October 23rd.

“I am so excited that we are going to host the official grand opening of Liberty Park next week,” said the Mayor. “I know people have already been enjoying the fishing pond, walking on the trails, and even practicing on the sports fields. I want the whole City to know that the park is complete and ready to enjoy. This is going to be a very special celebration.”

Shemberger completes rigorous triathlon training camp in Alabama

Restore Performance MassageClarksville, TN – Russ Shemberger, a licensed massage therapist at Restore Performance Massage on Madison Street in Clarksville, completed the rigorous Lake Guntersville Long Course Triathlon Training Camp, held July 27th-29th in Scottsboro, AL.

He was one of 50 participants in the camp, which trains triathletes from across the nation by swimming, biking and running a total of 140.6 miles – the distance of an Ironman – over the three-day event.
