Austin Peay to hold Free Photo Shoot by Professional Photographers for Military-Affiliated Individuals, Families

Clarksville, TN – On June 15th, a group of professional university photographers will take over the Austin Peay State University Red Barn and convert the building’s old basketball court into a temporary photo studio.
From 2:00pm-5:00pm that afternoon, these photographers—known for creating official and iconic images for institutions across the country like the University of Wisconsin, Baylor University and Wake Forest University —will take free portraits of any local individual with a direct military connection—including active duty soldiers, veterans and their families.
Austin Peay State University guitar professor Stanley Yates to present free concert to Clarksville community

Clarksville, TN – Dr. Stanley Yates, Austin Peay State University professor of music, will present a recital of solo guitar music at 7:30pm on Wednesday, September 30th, in the Mabry Concert Hall in the APSU Music/Mass Communications Building. The concert is free and open to the public.
Yates’ program will include selections from his critically-acclaimed transcriptions of music by Bach, Vivaldi and Albéniz; Venezuelan music by Antonio Lauro; and a recent work based on Indian ragas written by Dutch composer Annette Kruisbrink.
APSU music professor to complete Brazilian residency

Clarksville, TN – Dr. Stanley Yates, Austin Peay State University professor of music and coordinator of guitar studies, has been invited to complete a 10-day residency at the Universidade Federal do Rio Grande do Sul at Porto Alegre, Brazil.
Recently named that country’s highest-ranking postgraduate institute by the Brazilian Ministry of Education, UFRGA has been awarded funding to provide residencies for international scholars. Yates’ visit will take place March 11th-23rd.
