Seven ‘Green to Gold’ soldiers make up Austin Peay State University’s Ranger Challenge team

Austin Peay State University - APSUClarksville, TN – The U.S. Military Academy at West Point recently featured Austin Peay’s ROTC Ranger Challenge team on its website ahead of the prestigious Sandhurst 2019, the world’s premier academy-level military skills competition.

In doing so, West Point officials noted Austin Peay’s team includes seven active-duty soldiers participating in the Army’s Green to Gold program.

Austin Peay State University - APSUClarksville, TN – The Austin Peay State University (APSU) Department of Theatre and Dance attended the American College Dance Association (ACDA) South Region conference March 9th-12th, 2019 at the University of Mississippi. Both works of choreography submitted for blind adjudication were selected for inclusion in the culminating gala performance.

APSU junior dance major Alexandria Heide’s work, Limbic, was described as “powerful movement juxtaposed with softness and emotion” by one of the adjudicators.

In effort to authenticate Legros discovery, Austin Peay State University student finds connections

Austin Peay State University - APSUClarksville, TN – Earlier this semester, Austin Peay junior Katherine Tolleson discovered two drypoint creations by famed artist Alphonse Legros in the University’s Permanent Collection.

Tolleson and APSU gallery director Michael Dickins started investigating clues on the drypoint’s paper, such as watermarks, signatures, titles and impression numbers. Legros’ signature was clear. And on one of the prints, titled “The Sailor,” Legros writes the image is one of only 10 imprints.
