Clarksville, TN – On Tuesday, July 2nd, the Austin Peay State University (APSU) Registrar’s Office will host the Summer 2019 Graduation Gala, and all APSU students participating in the Summer commencement ceremony in August are encouraged to attend this important, celebratory event from 10:00am-2:00pm in the Morgan University Center Ballroom.
Larger-Than-Life Texas Governor Celebrated in “Ann” at the Roxy Regional Theatre’s theotherspace, June 24th – July 2nd

Clarksville, TN – This month, the legendary late Governor of Texas Ann Richards will be the focus of an inspiring and hilarious play at the Roxy Regional Theatre on the corner of Franklin Street and First Street in Historic Downtown Clarksville, bringing audiences face-to-face with a complex, colorful and captivating character bigger than the state from which she hailed.
“Ginger Rogers did everything that Fred Astaire did. She just did it backwards and in high heels.” Borrowing a phrase from cartoonist Bob Thaves to argue for more women in positions of power, feisty politician Ann Richards came to national attention when she delivered the keynote address at the 1988 Democratic National Convention.
Jenkins Family creates two new scholarships to benefit APSU students

Clarksville, TN – The Austin Peay State University (APSU) Foundation received two generous gifts from Don Jenkins and Sandy Jenkins to establish the Jenkins Family PELP Endowment and the Jenkins Family Finish Line Scholarship. Their generosity will provide financial aid for many deserving students.
APSU coding camp Elementary Kids learn about Coding, Program Robots

APSU Governors School students walk on water

Clarksville, TN – Austin Peay State University (APSU) Governor’s School for Computational Physics students learned what it’s like to walk on water this week.
Several of the University’s physics students filled kiddie pools with a water and corn starch mixture, which created a non-Newtonian fluid.

APSU alumnus creates Patsy Trotter Education Award Endowment to honor late wife

APSU Department of Music establishes scholarship in honor of Norma Jean Smith

Clarksville, TN – A scholarship to benefit students has been established by the Austin Peay State University (APSU) Department of Music to honor the memory of the late Norma Jean Smith.
Smith was an administrative assistant at APSU for 36 years. She worked in the Department of Music from 1990 to 2015.

APSU Governor’s School students surprised by helicopter landing

Clarksville, TN – Governor’s School for Computational Physics at Austin Peay State University (APSU) surprised the 36 high school students attending with a rare treat this week – a surprise landing of one of the school’s helicopters.
On June 5th, 2019, just before 4:00pm former Special Operations pilot Charlie Weigandt eased one of Austin Peay’s Guimbal Cabri G2 helicopters onto the Dunn Center lawn.

Clarksville Parks and Recreation’s Movies in the Park to show Beauty and the Beast” June 8th

Clarksville’s Heritage Park will host free Movie Screening, Vendors, and Fun.
Clarksville, TN – Clarksville Parks and Recreations free outdoor movie series Movies in the Park to be held this Saturday, June 8th, 2019 with the showing of “Beauty and the Beast” at Heritage Park located at 1241 Peachers Mill Road.
Pre-show activities, coordinated by the Clarksville Parks and Recreation Department, will begin at 6:30pm and include a demonstration using liquid nitrogen by Austin Peay State University’s College of STEM.
