APSU music professor Gail Robinson-Oturu to perform in Hopkinsville on Saturday

Austin Peay State UniversityClarksville, TN – Acclaimed soprano and Austin Peay State University professor of music Gail Robinson-Oturu will join composer and pianist Roland Carter at 7:30pm on September 29th for a special concert, “Music of the Heart,” at the Alhambra Theatre in Hopkinsville, KY.

For the 10th consecutive Halloween, the Honor Society of Phi Kappa Phi (PKP) at APSU is collecting new and gently used children’s books for its Candy for the Mind project. Members of the campus and local community are invited to support this effort through donations of books or funds for the purchase of books.

The 34th Annual Homecoming Golf Tournament will be at 8:00am, Friday, October 26th at Swan Lake Golf Course. Cost is $60.00 per person, and advance registration is required. Traces Brings Eerie Sense of Nostalgia to Customs House Museum

The Customs House Museum and Cultural CenterClarksville, TN – Local photographer Greg Sand comes across as a shy, somewhat mysterious guy. The same can be said of his latest photography series. Traces (on exhibit in the Planters Bank Peg Harvill Gallery through October) is a suite of sixteen digital images.

At first glance the viewer is reminded of old family photos from the 60s. Upon further inspection one finds only the shadows and reflections of people who were once present. [Read more]

Christy Walker, editorial cartoonist for the newspaper, was named a finalist for an individual Pacemaker award, presented annually to the country’s top college journalists and college media outlets. [Read more]
