APSU adds five solar picnic tables to campus

Clarksville, TN – Austin Peay State University is continuing its push to offer sustainable energy sources to the campus community with the recent installation of five solar picnic tables.
The tables, located in the Morgan University Center plaza, use solar panels attached to an umbrella canopy to generate 235 watts of electricity.

Nashville, TN – The Dance Theatre of Tennessee’s performance of “The Nutcracker” in Clarksville, TN orginally planned for December 7th, takes place for for one night only at Austin Peay State University on Friday, December 20th, at 7:00pm.

Austin Peay State University Physics Club named outstanding chapter

Clarksville, TN – Last year, members of Austin Peay State University’s Society of Physics Students (SPS) chapter sent an email to the national organization, loaded with 45 megabytes of attachments.
Somehow, the email made it to College Park, MD, where officials probably spent weeks wading through hundreds of images and documents detailing all the activities the APSU club, known Del Square Psi, had participated in throughout the year.
1st Annual Stuff the Reda Bus at Movement Mortgage continues tomorrow

The event continues tomorrow, December 17th, 2013 until 6:00pm.
APSU’s Barry Kitterman awarded prestigious National Endowment of the Arts Fellowship

Clarksville, TN – Barry Kitterman, Austin Peay State University professor of creative writing, has been awarded a prestigious Creative Writing Fellowship in fiction from the National Endowment of the Arts.
Only 38 writers received the award, with Kitterman being Tennessee’s sole NEA fellow for 2014. His work was selected from among more than a thousand writers as deserving of the honor, which brings with it an award of $25,000.

APSU’s Omicron Delta Kappa honor society recognized as one of the top two chapters in the nation

Clarksville, TN – The Austin Peay State University Circle of Omicron Delta Kappa was selected as the 2013 recipient of the ODK Presidential Award of Excellence.
ODK is currently comprised of 314 chapters nationally (referred to as circles), and the APSU circle was one of only two nationally to be selected for this prestigious honor by the Omicron Delta Kappa Board of Directors. [Read more]
Austin Peay State University Student to earn degree December 13th after two decades

Clarksville, TN – When Keith Wilson, 51, first arrived at Austin Peay State University, George H.W. Bush was president of the United States, Johnny Carson ended his 30-year tenure as host of the Tonight Show and Barcelona hosted the Summer Olympic Games.
Much has changed since 1992, except for Wilson’s status as an APSU student. A series of health problems delayed his studies over the years, causing him to sometimes drop out or take only one class a semester. [Read more]
APSU offers new online medical writing course

Clarksville, TN – Austin Peay State University’s Center for Extended and Distance Education, in its ongoing mission to provide high-quality online courses, has partnered with ed2go to offer hundreds of online, instructor-led courses.
