APSU Public Relations and Marketing recognized in region for work

Clarksville, TN – The Office of Public Relations and Marketing at Austin Peay State University has been recognized by the Council for Advancement and Support of Education (CASE) – Southeast District III for its promotional work.
The University received the Grand Award in the category of graphic design for print and digital special pieces. The printed piece selected for the honor was the 2012 Candlelight Ball invitation, produced by the APSU PR and Marketing Office. [Read more]

For the past 40 years prevention measures and treatment strategies for heart disease have basically remained the same while this almost ‘completely’ preventable disease continues to devastate Americans.
Heart disease remains the number 1 killer in America, killing nearly one person every minute and every 25 seconds someone has a heart attack. Now for those that are lucky enough to survive a heart attack they will feel the financial burden of our medical system. [Read more]

Dr. Stuart Bonnington, professor of psychology, recently presented a workshop, titled “The Quest for Balance: Qigong and the Healthy Helper,” for the Nashville Metropolitan Action Commission Annual Health and Wellness Conference on August 3rd. [Read more]
WJZM Radio transfers Ownership

Clarksville, TN – Clarksville’s original radio station, WJZM1400am, has transferred ownership. In a joint announcement this week, previous owner, Hank Bonecutter, said he had agreed to sell the corporation to local businessmen David Loos Jr, Greg Walker, and Mike Parchman. The sale became official on Tuesday.
“My wife and I are extremely excited about the sale,” said Bonecutter. “We have put a lot of hard work into WJZM, and this opportunity only comes along once in a lifetime to go out on your terms. I have dedicated my broadcasting career to the Clarksville-Fort Campbell community, bringing news, sports and current events to the public as reliable and credible as I can be. I think my legacy will be left on WJZM forever. I’m very excited, and proud of what I’ve accomplished.” [Read more]
Clarksville Academy staff attends iSummit

Clarksville, TN – Ten representatives from Clarksville Academy recently attended and/or presented sessions at the iSummit in Atlanta Georgia. iSummit is a conference centered on using Apple or Mac based technology as an integral part of education. Approximately 900 educators were in attendance from 30 different schools located in the United States and additional countries.

APSU to hold Chick-fil-A Leadercast Conference

The 100th meeting with Ed Bearss
Clarksville, TN – The next meeting of the Clarksville (TN) Civil War Roundtable will be on Wednesday, July 18th at the Customs House Museum, 200 South 2nd Street in downtown Clarksville.
The Customs House Museum is our partner for this event and we thank them for their help. This is a special fund raising event for the Clarksville CWRT with the proceeds going to help build the Tennessee monument at the Battle of Richmond, Kentucky.

Panera Bread continues Plan for Clarksville-Montgomery County Location

Clarksville, TN – St. Louis based bakery-café chain, Panera Bread, is moving forward with opening its first Clarksville-Montgomery County, Tn. location at 110 Morris Road, near Governors Square Mall.
Jay Patel, Chairman of the Clarksville-Montgomery County Economic Development Council (EDC) stated, “This project announcement is a great example of the valuable contacts that can be made when the team at the EDC attends retail recruitment conferences such as the International Council of Shopping Centers (ICSC) shows that happen in both Atlanta and Las Vegas each year.” [Read more]
Yard Sale Fundraiser to be held for Brady Conatser June 2nd

Cunningham, TN – There will be a yard sale for Brady Conatser June 2nd starting 9:00am at the Montgomery Central High School parking lot in Cunningham, TN. Donations are still being accepted. The yard sale is to help raise money for equipment that Brady needs for his rehabilitation.
Some of the items include an exercise bike, treadmill, patio set, futon bed, weight set, televisions, antique silver trays, antique glassware, lots of kids toys and clothes. There will also be a band playing.
