APSU hosting Slapstick Film Festival this fall

Clarksville, TN – This fall, the Austin Peay State University (APSU) Department of Languages and Literature will take a look at cinema’s zanier side during its Slapstick Film Festival.
Every year the department, which offers a film studies minor, presents a free film genre series that introduces students and community members to masterworks in different film categories.
APSU Military Alumni Chapter Homecoming Dinner to honor named scholarships on October 26th

Clarksville, TN – The Austin Peay State University (APSU) Military Alumni Chapter and the APSU National Alumni Association will host the Military Alumni Chapter Homecoming Dinner at 6:00pm, October 26th, 2018 in the APSU Morgan University Center Ballroom, with a reception at 5:30pm prior to the dinner.
Retired Brigadier General Scott E. Brower, the University’s first military adviser in residence, will serve as the keynote speaker.

Adults can take APSU’s new community coding classes for free

Clarksville, TN – For the last couple of years, people keep calling the Austin Peay State University Department of Computer Science and Information Technology and asking the same question – what about community coding classes for adults?
Since 2017, the department has offered several computer coding classes and camps for local children, but if you were over the age of 18, you couldn’t participate.

BAND Foundation donates $100,000 to Austin Peay State University Southeastern Grasslands Initiative

Clarksville, TN – The BAND Foundation of Washington, D.C., recently donated $100,000 to the Austin Peay State University Foundation as a contribution for the ongoing effort to fund the Southeastern Grasslands Initiative (SGI) at APSU.
BAND also issued a dollar-for-dollar challenge gift to SGI, agreeing to match up to $250,000 of funds raised through the end of 2019.

APSU Industry Summit inspires local leaders to envision the future

On Wednesday morning, during the Alignment of Community and Education Industry Summit, hosted by Austin Peay State University’s College of STEM, he told a packed audience of local business, civic and educational leaders that Clarksville-Montgomery County is the best place in all of Tennessee to live, work, play and thrive. In his words, it’s “ideal.”

WKRN News 2 Weather Authority University visiting APSU on October 3rd

Then event, which is free and open to the public, will teach attendees about severe weather and how to keep safe during a storm.
