Three APSU teams recently competed in a national speed-programming competition, and one team almost finished tops at its site.
Large Turnout for Clarksville-Montgomery County Veterans Day Parade

Clarksville, TN – Clarksville-Montgomery County’s annual Veterans Day Parade began with an opening ceremony on the steps of the court house featuring special guest speaker Dr. David A. Wesner, followed by dozens of entries performing for thousands of spectators on Clarksville’s downtown streets.

Patriotism was on full display at this year’ Veterans Day Parade, which winded its way through the streets of Downtown Clarksville on Saturday, November 10th, 2018.

Clarksville, TN – The Austin Peay State University (APSU) Department of Art + Design, with support from the APSU Center of Excellence for the Creative Arts, is pleased to welcome artist, author and new director of the Visual Arts at Chautauqua Institution Sharon Louden to Austin Peay State University.
“Sharon Louden’s visit to Austin Peay will be a special one,” Michael Dickins, gallery director for The New Gallery, said.

Sharon Louden’s “Windows.” Louden will give a public lecture about her work 6:00pm Wednesday, November 14th, at Room 120 of the Art + Design building at Austin Peay State University (APSU).

AHDC to honor three Clarksvillians for their work in advancing arts, heritage in our community

Clarksville, TN – Three Clarksvillians will be honored this Tuesday, November 13th, 2018 by the Clarksville-Montgomery County Arts and Heritage Development Council for their achievements in art and in preserving our heritage.
Ceramicists Ken and Melody Shipley will receive the Lifetime Achievement in Art award, and Dr. Minoa Uffelman, Austin Peay State University history professor, will receive the Lifetime Achievement in Heritage award.
The awards ceremony will begin at 5:00pm at Emerald Hill on the Austin Peay campus.

Clarksville, TN – Dr. Philip Short has the heart of a field biologist. He loves wading through creeks or hiking trails, conducting field research. As an assistant professor at Austin Peay State University (APSU), you might expect his office to be in the Sundquist Science Complex, but it’s not.
Short works in the Claxton Building, as a member of the Eriksson College of Education.

THEC Awards Veterans Reconnect Grant to APSU
