APSU Clay Target Team wins four team titles, seven individual titles at state championships

Clarksville, TN – The Austin Peay State University (APSU) Clay Target Team won four collegiate team state titles last week at the Tennessee Scholastic Clay Target Program championships in Nashville Tennessee.
Team members also claimed seven individual titles. Here are the honors:

Clarksville, TN – Austin Peay State University (APSU) assistant professor of acting and directing Talon Beeson doesn’t like to brag, but he couldn’t help himself during a recent recruiting event in Ohio.
Along with promotional materials about the APSU Department of Theater and Dance, he brought along a simple flyer announcing the department’s 2019-20 season.
Family creates Dr. Arthur J. Eaves Memorial Diversity Endowed Scholarship to honor late APSU professor

Clarksville, TN – Austin Peay State University (APSU) Foundation recently received a gift from Charles Eaves and Elaine Eaves McCormick to create the Dr. Arthur J. Eaves Memorial Diversity Endowed Scholarship in memory of their late brother. The scholarship program is intended to aid a wide variety of APSU students.
NASA launches rocket with APSU’s first-ever space payload

Clarksville, TN – Austin Peay State University’s first-ever space payload launched on Thursday, June 20th, 2019 around 4:30am CT.
Austin Peay physics professor Dr. Justin Oelgoetz and two APSU physics students – Zach Hill and Zach Givens – built the predesigned payload during Rocket Week at NASA’s Wallops Flight Facility in Virginia.

APSU students scheduled to send payload to space for first time in school history

Clarksville, TN – Austin Peay State University has a payload bound for space. This is a first in APSU’s 92-year history.
Austin Peay State University physics professor Dr. Justin Oelgoetz made the announcement on Facebook Tuesday: “APSU’s first payload bound for space just passed inspection and has been integrated into the rocket’s payload stack.”

Austin Peay, National Guard partner on tuition deferment program

Austin Peay State University hosting Summer Graduation Gala July 2nd

Larger-Than-Life Texas Governor Celebrated in “Ann” at the Roxy Regional Theatre’s theotherspace, June 24th – July 2nd

Clarksville, TN – This month, the legendary late Governor of Texas Ann Richards will be the focus of an inspiring and hilarious play at the Roxy Regional Theatre on the corner of Franklin Street and First Street in Historic Downtown Clarksville, bringing audiences face-to-face with a complex, colorful and captivating character bigger than the state from which she hailed.
“Ginger Rogers did everything that Fred Astaire did. She just did it backwards and in high heels.” Borrowing a phrase from cartoonist Bob Thaves to argue for more women in positions of power, feisty politician Ann Richards came to national attention when she delivered the keynote address at the 1988 Democratic National Convention.
