City of Clarksville set to construct Pedestrian Bridge over Red River

Clarksville, TN – The City of Clarksville has announced that it will complete a 10-mile hiking and biking trail linking the City’s downtown riverfront with Northeast Clarksville.
The Tennessee Department of Transportation (TDOT) has announced Clarksville will receive a $1.82 million federal Transportation Alternatives Project grant for construction of a pedestrian bridge over the Red River.

Clarksville, TN – In the span of two weeks at Austin Peay State University (APSU), two remarkable discoveries of long-forgotten items opened a torrent of memories for two professors with decades-old ties to the school.
The first discovery happened on August 1st, 2019 when an electrician’s assistant working in Kimbrough Building found a billfold that had been missing since 1987.

Retired Maj. William L. Sundy Memorial Endowment will support APSU students studying to be STEM teachers

Clarksville, TN – The Austin Peay State University (APSU) Foundation recently received a generous gift from the estate of retired Maj. William L. Sundy (’72) to establish an endowed scholarship fund for APSU students.

Pillars of Hope 9/11 commemorative art exhibit to be held at Clarksville-Montgomery County Public Library, September 4th-23rd

Clarksville, TN – Clarksville-Montgomery County has a personal and profound connection to September 11th with many military heroes and families calling Clarksville their home.
So it is no surprise that almost 2000 tiles have been hand painted by Clarksville-Montgomery County residents as part of the Pillars of Hope: Remembering our Heroes through Art and Reflection since late 2012. A project dedicated to the memory of the September 11th attacks on our nation that honors and remembers those who serve our country.

Austin Peay State University Fall Classes have begun

Fortera Credit Union creates Cleveland “Mario” Richardson Memorial Endowment for Austin Peay finance students

Clarksville, TN – The Austin Peay State University Foundation (APSU) recently received a contribution from the Fortera Credit Union to establish the Cleveland “Mario” Richardson Memorial Endowment in memory of APSU alumnus Cleveland “Mario” Richardson (’10).
To be eligible for the scholarship, applicants must be enrolled full-time with a major in finance. The award is renewable for recipients who continue to meet the criteria each year.

Austin Peay State University’s Career Services hosts first Enterprise Signing Day

APSU Volunteers help new Govs into new homes

Clarksville, TN – On Thursday, August 22nd, 2019, the cars wrapped around Austin Peay State University’s Castle Heights, and as an intermittent rain dampened the air, families fell out of their cars all at once. They grabbed boxes and appliances from trunks and lugged them into the building.
