Nominations sought for APSU Center of Excellence for the Creative Arts Advisory Board’s 2020 Ovation Awards

Clarksville, TN – Nominations are being sought for the 2020 Ovation Awards, presented by the Advisory Board of the Austin Peay State University (APSU) Center of Excellence for the Creative Arts (CECA, or “seek-ah”).
The Ovation Awards will take place at 2:00pm on Sunday, March 29th, 2020 in the George and Sharon Mabry Concert Hall.

APSU, University of Memphis form 3+3 agreement for Law Degree

Clarksville, TN – The Austin Peay State University (APSU) Department of Political Science and Public Management recently established an agreement with the University of Memphis Cecil C. Humphreys School of Law to provide a six-year path to obtain a law degree.

APSU unveils vision for new Health Professions Building

Clarksville, TN – On Friday morning, Austin Peay State University (APSU) unveiled its vision for a new Health Professions Building that will one day consolidate the University’s growing healthcare-related programs under one roof.
Those programs include the School of Nursing and the departments of allied health sciences, health and human performance, psychological science and counseling and social work.
APSU’s Community School of the Arts announces Dawn Dickins as new coordinator, Spring 2020 classes

Clarksville, TN – The Community School of the Arts (CSA) at Austin Peay State University (APSU) has announced the hiring of a new coordinator – Dawn Martin Dickins.
Dickins, a visual artist with a concentration in drawing, has worked for the Center of Excellence for the Creative Arts (CECA, or “seek-ah”) at Austin Peay State University for two years as the programs manager.

CTS to provide special holiday services

Clarksville, TN – Clarksville Transit System (CTS) will be offering several free services to help residents cope with the hustle and bustle of the holiday season.
On Tuesday, December 24th, 2019, CTS is offering free transportation from the Downtown Transit Center to the Annual Warm Souls Christmas Celebration at the APSU Morgan University Center.
Clarksville Christmas Parade set for this Saturday

Clarksville, TN – This Saturday, December 7th, 2019, the annual Christmas parade, hosted by the City of Clarksville and Montgomery County Government, will begin at 5:00pm in downtown Clarksville.
The family of the late Mike Robinson, wife Rhonda Robinson and children Bryce, Bayleigh and Carly Robinson, will be this year’s grand marshals. Mike Robinson passed in August from cancer. He was a popular local musician, coach and most importantly a husband and father.

Clarksville, TN – Bryan Gaither, dressed in his trademark blue lab coat, slid on a pair of latex gloves and proceeded to inject chemicals into a pumpkin. Nearby, on the front lawn of the Austin Peay State University (APSU) Dunn Center, Clarksville firefighters put on their protective gear.

Clarksville, TN – On Friday, December 13th, 2019, Dr. Gilbert Pitts, Austin Peay State University (APSU) professor of biology and recipient of the 2019 National Alumni Association Distinguished Professor Award, will deliver the keynote address during the University’s winter commencement. He will speak at both ceremonies, at 10:00am and 2:00pm, in the APSU Dunn Center.

APSU tops 11,000 students for first time in University history

Clarksville, TN – Austin Peay State University (APSU) is now 11,000 strong. More so actually. During a special celebration Wednesday morning, the University unveiled its official fall 2019 enrollment numbers, and Austin Peay’s 11,048 students represent another record year for the University.
