APSU professor Dr. Korre Foster to conduct Académie de Musique choir in Paris

Clarksville, TN – In partnership with the French Académie de Musique, Austin Peay State University assistant professor of music Dr. Korre Foster will conduct a trio of choral performances in July in Paris.
Under a French-American exchange supported through a grant from the Florence Gould Foundation, Foster will be working with the Académie’s Chamber Choir, a collection of university, college and conservatory students gathered from throughout France.
APSU releases Peay Mobile 4.0

Clarksville, TN – For several months, Austin Peay State University’s Information Technology (IT) department has been quietly working behind the scenes to implement a new mobile application called Peay Mobile 4.0.
This new version automatically replaces the original version of the Austin Peay mobile application, providing access to student and employee accounts, class schedules, grades and campus navigation. These and other features are at the control of your thumbs through Apple and Android mobile devices.

Nashville, TN – Thirty two community and business leaders from Middle Tennessee have graduated from Leadership Middle Tennessee, Inc., a regional leadership institute.
The 2015 class is from the 10-county area which includes Cheatham County, Davidson County, Dickson County, Maury County, Montgomery County, Robertson County, Rutherford County, Sumner County, Williamson County and Wilson County.

Clarksville Montgomery County Public Library to hold Imagination Library “Hats Off to Reading” with First Lady Crissy Haslam

Clarksville, TN – Tennessee’s First Lady Crissy Haslam will be among the celebrity readers at the Clarksville-Montgomery County Public Library Thursday, June 25th for a child-centered event to highlight the Montgomery County Imagination Library.
Other guest readers include Channel 4 Chief Meteorologist Lisa Spencer, Kirby Cannon, APSU Head Football Coach, Gnash, the Predator’s Mascot, Snowbird, and the Tender Paws therapy dogs.
Tennessee Senator Mark Green donates $50,000 to APSU College of Business

Clarksville, TN – Austin Peay State University’s campaign to develop a state-of-the-art trading room for its College of Business students received a major boost last week when Mark Green, MD, president of the healthcare company AlignMD, presented APSU President Alisa White with a $50,000 donation for that project.
“In building our successful healthcare company, the resources that served as the foundation came from here in the Clarksville community: legal services, capital financing and accounting,” Green, a Tennessee state senator and physician, said. “AlignMD is an authentic Clarksville entrepreneurial success story.”

APSU supporter Don Jenkins receives Tennessee Board of Regents Chancellor’s Award

Clarksville, TN – Don Jenkins, president and CEO of Jenkins & Wynne Ford-Lincoln-Honda, was presented with the Tennessee Board of Regents 2015 Chancellor’s Award for Excellence in Philanthropy earlier this month in recognition of his years of service to Austin Peay State University.
“Mr. Jenkins is a true friend and supporter of this University,” John Morgan, TBR Chancellor, said during the annual APSU Foundation Dinner on June 2nd.

APSU Public Relations and Marketing wins six awards at state conference

Clarksville, TN – The Office of Public Relations and Marketing at Austin Peay State University won six awards during the Tennessee College Public Relations Association (TCPRA) spring conference and awards contest, held May 27th-29th in Gatlinburg, TN.
TCPRA, an alliance of communicators across the state representing public and private colleges and universities, technical schools, technology centers and community colleges, awarded gold, silver and bronze distinctions in various writing, design, publication and photography categories. Entries were received for the contest period between April 1st, 2014 and April 30th, 2015.
