APSU students may enter the contest January 1st through January 23rd at either of Altra’s two locations in Clarksville located at 1600 Madison Street or 2625 Wilma Rudolph Boulevard.

Austin Peay State University - APSU - logoClarksville, TN – On November 26th, 1930, a small, four-page newspaper appeared on the Austin Peay Normal School campus. The All State, as it was known, arrived that fall to present all of the school’s news and “gossip,” and by the spring of 1931, most students eagerly awaited its weekly publication.

Nashville art exhibit showcases APSU Department of Art and Design

Austin Peay State University - APSUClarksville, TN – This October, the L Gallery in downtown Nashville will present works by Austin Peay State University art and designfaculty and students as part of a multi-discipline exhibit, titled “The One and the Many.”

The exhibit, curated by APSU student Sara Straussberger, will open with a reception from 6:00pm-9:00pm on October 3rd at the gallery, in space 72 of The Arcade in Nashville.

Acuff Circle to honor Mabrys at Jazz in June event

Acuff Circle of ExcellenceClarksville, TN – The Acuff Circle of Excellence will honor George and Sharon Mabry at the organization’s summertime Jazz in June on June 12th. The event, from 5:30pm to 7:00pm, will be at Beachaven Vineyards and Winery, and the public is invited.

The Circle, a non-profit organization affiliated with the Austin Peay State University Foundation, serves as a patron society of the University’s Center of Excellence for the Creative Arts, and advances the importance of arts and culture at the University and in the community. The endowed Acuff Circle of Excellence Arts Scholarship is awarded each year to an APSU student majoring in the fine arts.

APSU student Amber Kearns to serve on archeological dig in Bulgaria

A double major in biology and classics, Kearns will be the first APSU student to participate in an excavation in Bulgaria at the site of the former Greek colony known as Alexandropolis.

Austin Peay State University student wins $100,000 scholarship from Dr. Pepper

November 4, 2014

Austin Peay State University - APSUClarksville, TN – Claudia Delgadillo had just worked a late shift at the restaurant, so when her cell phone rang around noon the next day, she almost didn’t answer it. The fact that the cell phone rang at all was a surprise to her because it was about to be disconnected.

The person on the other end of the phone was from Dr. Pepper, and as Delgadillo slowly woke up, she heard them say they were sending her to the Cotton Bowl for a chance to win a $100,000 college scholarship.
