Decorated soldier awarded APSU ROTC CSM Darol Walker Award

Clarksville, TN – The recipient of the 2015 Command Sgt. Maj. Darol Walker Award at Austin Peay State University is ROTC Cadet Kevin Doss, a decorated career soldier.
Doss, born in San Antonio, Texas, graduated from Boerne High School in 2001 and attended the University of Texas from 2001-03. He will graduate May 8th from APSU with a degree in Criminal Justice and a minor in Military Science.

Marine general to speak at APSU’s Spring Commencement

Clarksville, TN – Lt. Gen. Ronald Bailey, a 1977 Austin Peay State University graduate and current Deputy Commandant for Plans, Polices and Operations for the United States Marine Corps, will return to his alma mater on May 8 to deliver the keynote address at APSU’s 86th Spring Commencement.
Bailey will speak at both commencement events, at 9:00am and 2:00pm, in the Dunn Center.
APSU awards degrees to more than 1,100 students

Clarksville, TN – Austin Peay State University hosted its 85th Spring Commencement ceremony on May 9th, in the campus’ Dunn Center.
More than 1,100 students from the College of Arts and Letters, College of Behavioral and Health Sciences, College of Business, Martha Dickerson Eriksson College of Education, College of Science and Mathematics, and School of Technology and Public Management were awarded degrees.
Tennessee State Representative Joe Pitts to speak at Austin Peay State University Spring Commencement

Clarksville, TN – Tennessee state Representative Joe Pitts often refers to himself as “a proud 1980 graduate of Austin Peay State University,” and on May 9th, he’ll return to his alma mater to deliver the keynote address at the University’s 85th Spring Commencement.

APSU to graduate record 1,000-plus students May 4th

Clarksville, TN – Austin Peay State University will award degrees to 1,075 students – the largest class in APSU history – during its 83rd Spring Commencement on Friday, May 4th in the Dunn Center.
More students are graduating from APSU because of the University’s increased efforts to offer students more opportunities to finish their degrees faster. One of those opportunities is APSU’s new Winter Term, which launched in December 2011. Some of the students will be able to graduate May 4th because they took a course during Winter Term. [Read more]
APSU to award new chemical engineering tech degree to 50-plus candidates

Clarksville, TN – During Spring Commencement on May 6th, Austin Peay State University will graduate the first class of students to receive the new Associate of Applied Science in chemical engineering technology.
A total of 53 students will receive the degree, launched for the first time in Fall 2009. The degree program is housed in the APSU College of Science and Mathematics, which will send off its candidates at 10:00am, Friday, May 6th. [Read more]
APSU alumna who now is president at Columbia State to speak at Commencement

Clarksville, TN – An Austin Peay State University alumna who has served at the helm of two community colleges in the last 11 years will be the keynote speaker at APSU’s 82nd Spring Commencement.
Dr. Janet F. Smith (’69, ‘71), president of Columbia State Community College, will speak at both commencement events, with the first beginning at 10:00am and the second at 2:00pm, Friday, May 6th. Both ceremonies will be held in the Dunn Center.
