Austin Peay State University - APSUClarksville, TN – When the City of Clarksville launched its new website on April 8th, 2019 that day’s news release lauded “a fresh, easy-to-navigate and more powerful website that will enhance the city’s ability to engage and serve its citizens.” Austin Peay State University’s GIS Center helped create one of the engaging elements that lives on the city’s new homepage – an interactive map that continuously updates with road maintenance and closure information.

APSU offers Active Shooter Defense Training

Austin Peay State University - APSUClarksville, TN – As part of their ongoing safety training offered to the campus community and public, Austin Peay State University police officers are offering active shooter defense training sessions on campus beginning Thursday, March 15th.

All sessions are free and open to the public.

APSU Campus Police to participate in National Night Out

Austin Peay State UniversityClarksville, TN – Austin Peay State University Campus Police, along with Clarksville and Montgomery County, will join cities nationwide for the 29th annual National Night Out (NNO), a crime and prevention event, on Tuesday, August 7th.

National Night Out is designed to heighten crime and drug prevention awareness, generate support for and participation in, local anticrime efforts, strengthen neighborhood spirit and police-community partnerships, and to send a message to criminals letting them know neighborhoods are organized and fighting back. Austin Peay State UniversityClarksville, TN – After a nationwide search, Austin Peay State University announces it has hired a new director of public safety and chief of campus police. Terence Calloway will join APSU on January 23rd, 2012, in his new role.

Calloway is an accomplished administrator with more than 16 years of experience. He has directed an effective and efficient community-oriented police operation, including patrol, investigation support, training, budget management and administrative services. APSU to hold weather spotter training session next week

February 10, 2011

Austin Peay State UniversityClarksville, TN – The National Weather Service will conduct storm spotter training next week at Austin Peay State University.

The class will be held from 4:00pm-6:00pm, Wednesday, February 16th in the Morgan University Center, Room 308. Reservations are needed by February 15th.

National Weather Service The session will focus on how to recognize adverse weather conditions such as tornadoes and thunderstorms. More information can be found at www.stormready.noaa.gov .
