Clarksville, TN – Tickets are on sale now for the Gateway Chamber Orchestra’s 10th Anniversary Season – Inspiration Abounds.
The four-concert Masterworks Series will explore composers that have shaped the Gateway Chamber Orchestra (GCO) over the past decade, culminating with a new festival dedicated to Franz Joseph Haydn in April. Internationally acclaimed soloists are scheduled to perform, including Los Angeles Philharmonic principal clarinet Boris Allakhverdyan.

Season tickets are available now for the Gateway Chamber Orchestra’s 2018-19 season – Inspiration Abounds. The 10th anniversary season presents the works of Franz Joseph Hayden, Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart and other composers who have come to define the GCO’s sound and approach, as well as a wide selection of American composers and top-notch guest performances.
APSU CECA Announces 2018 Ovation Award winners and final program lineup

Clarksville, TN – Austin Peay State University (APSU ) President Alisa White and the Center of Excellence for the Creative Arts (CECA, or “seek-ah”) invite the entire community to the 2018 Ovation Awards, a free, family-friendly celebration of the arts.
The 2018 Ovation Awards will take place on Sunday, April 8th, at 2:00pm in the George and Sharon Mabry Concert Hall on APSU’s campus. The 2018 Ovation Award winners will be honored, and, in an exciting new format, the event will feature performances and artwork by a variety of arts groups from the community and APSU.
APSU’s CECA announces Collaborations at 2018 Ovation Awards

Clarksville, TN – The 2018 Ovation Awards, presented by the Austin Peay State University Center of Excellence for the Creative Arts (CECA, or “seek-ah”), will take place on Sunday, April 8th, at the George and Sharon Mabry Concert Hall at 2:00pm.
The Awards Ceremony will be presented in a new format this year, with an assortment of collaborative performances by APSU and community ensembles.
APSU Percussion Ensemble Halloween Concert returns on October 27th

Clarksville, TN – Don’t be afraid to be changed on Friday, October 27th, 2017, when Austin Peay State University’s Department of Music hosts the 33rd annual Percussion Ensemble Halloween Concert. It will be a metamorphosis for the better, we assure you!
This year’s concert will feature two performances at 6:00pm and 8:00pm and takes place at the George and Sharon Mabry Concert Hall in the Music/Mass Communication Building. Admission is two cans of food (donated to Loaves & Fishes) or $5.00.
THINKFAST driver safety game show comes to APSU on September 11th

Bennett, an Officer of the Most Excellent Order of the British Empire for his distinguished services to music, leaves overcast England every summer to spend a week in the humid air hovering around Clarksville Tennessee.
Austin Peay State University Choral Activities holding “The Big Sing” on April 11th

Clarksville, TN – Austin Peay State University choral activities celebrates the grand finale of the choral season with the biggest collection of vocal talent to date in the fourth annual “The Big Sing.”
On April 11th at 5:30pm, upwards of 170 singers from APSU, Mt. Juliet High School and Station Camp High School will join together at the George and Sharon Mabry Concert Hall on the University campus in a free performance of a wide range of vocal compositions.

Acuff Chair of Excellence recipient Dorothy Allison to give April 7th author reading at Austin Peay

Clarksville, TN – Award-winning writer, poet and novelist Dorothy Allison, the current Roy Acuff Chair of Excellence recipient, will be on the campus of Austin Peay State University on Friday, April 7th for an evening reading of her work.
The event, which takes place at 8:00pm, will be held at the George and Sharon Mabry Concert Hall on the University campus and is free to the public.
Allison has won a number of literary awards, including two Lambda Literary Awards and the American Library Association Prize for Lesbian and Gay Writing for her 1988 short story collection, “Trash.”
Marquis Hill Blacktet headlines 56th Mid-South Jazz Festival at Austin Peay State University

Clarksville, TN – The 56th Annual Mid-South Jazz Festival at APSU will be headlined by Virtuoso trumpeter Marquis Hill and the Marquis Hill Blacktet.
Held in collaboration with the Clarksville Community Concert Association, the Jazz Festival will be held on Saturday, April 1st at 7:30pm.
