APSU hosting Military Appreciation Day during November 5th football game

Clarksville, TN – This Saturday, November 5th, 2016, the Austin Peay State University athletics department will honor local veterans and military-affiliated individuals with a special Military Appreciation Day during APSU’s 4:00pm football game at Fortera Stadium.
All veterans, active-duty personnel and their families will receive free admission to the game with a current military I.D., and several military vehicles will be on display in tailgate alley and inside the stadium.

Clarksville, TN – On November 5th, 2016 at 7:30am the Clarksville Area Chamber of Commerce will host the 24th Annual Veterans Day Breakfast on Saturday, at the Austin Peay State University Morgan University Center.
Retired Sergeant Major of the Army Kenneth O. Preston will be the keynote speaker. He now serves as Director of NCO & Soldier Programs, AUSA.

Keynote speaker at the breakfast is retired Sergeant Major of the Army Kenneth O. Preston. He now serves as Director of NCO & Soldier Programs, AUSA.
Clarksville Makes Pitch for TSSAA Football Championships

Clarksville, TN – With a little luck and a lot of community support, local tourism officials are hoping Clarksville will host the Tennessee Secondary Schools Athletic Association (TSSAA) state football championships beginning in 2017.
Visit Clarksville and Austin Peay State University athletic department officials hosted a site visit for seven TSSAA staff earlier in September to show just what Clarksville has to offer.

2016 Austin Peay State University Governors Gauntlet to raise money for military alumni scholarship

Clarksville, TN – In honor of the military students and their families, the 2016 APSU Governors Gauntlet will benefit the APSU Military Alumni Chapter Scholarship Endowment.
In 2015, Austin Peay and CrossFit Clarksville came together to provide an incredible backdrop for a one-of-a-kind team competition. With $12,000 raised for the APSU Military Scholarship Fund, they are excited to be back at it again in 2016.
Clarksville-Montgomery County Welcomes AAU Boys’ and Girls’ Back-to-Back National Championships July 8th-18th

Clarksville, TN – Local residents can expect to see an increase in out of town visitors for more of July as approximately 8,695 visitors from across the country arrive in Clarksville to compete in the AAU Boys’ 10U Basketball Division I and Division II National Championship from July 8th-13th, followed by the Girls 6th Grade National Championship July 13th-18th.
A total of 52 boys teams and 63 girls teams will be competing.
