At a time when most colleges and universities are struggling to attract students, Austin Peay State University’s 4.7 percent increase far outpaced other schools and helped the University set a record enrollment this fall with 10,954 students.

Clarksville, TN – Emily Crain, a Stewart County native, arrived at Austin Peay State University last month as part of a wave of new graduate students who are helping bolster the University’s enrollment.
She picked APSU as the place to earn her master’s degree in school counseling because she believes the University will prepare her to make a difference in the lives of young men and women.

Improvement in Graduations best among Tennessee Universities
Clarksville, TN – Austin Peay State University continues to move toward the 11,000-student mark. Figures for the Fall 2011 semester show a record enrollment of 10,873 students at APSU.
But APSU has more reason to celebrate. Not only is enrollment increasing, but APSU also is graduating more students than ever.

APSU: One of the state’s “most diverse” universities

As Tennessee’s fastest growing public university, Austin Peay State University also is one of the state’s most diverse universities, according to the latest enrollment data.
“That’s a good thing, since our students will enter a diverse state and national work force once they graduate,” APSU President Tim Hall said.
From Fall 2007 to Fall 2008, APSU’s black student enrollment increased 9.22 percent. The Hispanic student enrollment also increased, by 7.24 percent, during the same period. Total enrollment increase for the University was 3.38 percent. [Read more]
