Austin Peay State University - APSUClarksville, TN – For a late Valentine’s Day present, Dr. Christopher Bailey desperately wanted to get his wife tickets to the Sarah Brightman concert in Atlanta. Nine years earlier, on their first date, the couple bonded over their mutual love for the classical-crossover superstar who originated the role of Christine Daaé in Andrew Lloyd Weber’s “The Phantom of the Opera.” Bailey, an Austin Peay State University (APSU) musical theater professor, might have even owned a cardboard Sarah Brightman CD display as a teenager.

Molière lives! One-man show ‘Molière Than Thou’ coming to APSU

November 2, 2018

Austin Peay State University (APSU)

Austin Peay State University - APSUClarksville, TN – A scurrilous rumor circulating for the last 300 or so years suggests that Molière is dead, the victim of a coughing seizure amid the performance of his final play, “The Imaginary Invalid.” Molière is alive, better than ever and performing under the name Timothy Mooney. Not only is Molière still alive, but, in “Molière Than Thou,” coming to Austin Peay State University’s (APSU) Department of Theatre and Dance at 6:00pm November 6th, 2018, he speaks English and is every bit as insightful, ribald, irreverent and enthusiastic as the first time around.

Sponsored by the APSU Center of Excellence for the Creative Arts (CECA), the APSU Department of Theatre and Dance will host two workshops by Timothy Mooney as well as a public performance of his one-man show, “Molière Than Thou,” November 6th, 2018.
