Clarksville, TN – John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts teaching artist Bomani Armah stood at the front of Kenwood Middle School’s library on October 3rd with more than 60 students staring at him.

Kennedy Center teaching artist Bomani Armah leads about 60 Kenwood Middle School students in a hip-hop writing exercise. Grabbing the sides of your head and blasting your hands out symbolizes prewriting in Armah’s hip-hop dance. (APSU)
APSU hosting Q&A with award-winning, Atlanta-based director Freddie Ashley

Clarksville, TN – On Saturday, October 26th, 2019 the Austin Peay State University Department (APSU) of Theatre and Dance and the APSU Center of Excellence for the Creative Arts (CECA) will host a public question and answer session with Tony-winning director and Acuff chair Freddie Ashley. The event, which is free and open to the public, will be at 2:00pm in the Trahern Theatre.
APSU’s Zone 3 Press, Goldsmith Press launch poetry competition

APSU’s Susan Bryant honors work of former students with new Reciprocity exhibit

Clarksville, TN – In the fall of 1982, a 28-year-old photographer named Susan Bryant arrived at Austin Peay State University (APSU) as an assistant professor in the school’s Department of Art.
She was just a few years older than her students, but as she shared her passion for the art form with them, she inadvertently made several lifelong friends.
