Austin Peay State University Public Relations and Marketing Office wins 12 awards at 2016 TCPRA Conference

Clarksville, TN – The Office of Public Relations and Marketing at Austin Peay State University won 12 awards during the Tennessee College Public Relations Association (TCPRA) spring conference and awards contest held May 25th-27th in Chattanooga, TN.
Ard, Morton honored at Austin Peay State University’s Annual Scholarship Donor Dinner

Clarksville, TN – On April 26th, during Austin Peay State University’s Annual Scholarship Donor Dinner, Wayne Ard, and his late wife, Marianne, and Ron Morton were honored for their strong support of the University.
Ard, president of Ard Construction,received the 2016 Tennessee Board of Regents’ Award for Excellence in Philanthropy. Morton, owner of the largest number of H&R Block franchises in the country, was presented with the University’s 2016 Academic Advocate Award.
APSU announces Candlelight Ball Award winners

Clarksville, TN – The Austin Peay State University Office of Alumni Relations has announced the recipients of the 2016 Candlelight Ball Awards. The Wendell H. Gilbert Award will go to Jack B. Turner (’67), president of Jack B. Turner and Associates, and the Spirit of Austin Peay Award will go to Josh Baggett (’05), district engineering technician with Cumberland Electric Membership Corporation.
Since 2011, the University has honored two individuals who have supported or brought recognition to APSU through their achievements or contributions. [Read more]
New APSU student health building named after Wayne and Marianne Ard

Clarksville, TN – Earlier this year, Wayne Ard, president of Ard Construction, met Austin Peay State University President Alisa White for breakfast at a local restaurant. The conversation that morning quickly turned to Ard’s wife, Marianne, who passed away a few months earlier in December 2014.
“My wife was an education freak,” Ard told President White. “She felt that every high school student should have a college education. She said that education was something you can’t get too much of. So today, in Marianne’s honor, I’ll make a pledge to you.”
Two honored during APSU Candlelight Ball Award Luncheon

Clarksville, TN – Austin Peay State University’s 31st Annual Candlelight Ball is just around the corner, and to help announce the event, two individuals were honored and recognized during a luncheon held Tuesday, January 13th.
The Wendell H. Gilbert Award and the Spirit of Austin Peay Award were presented to two individuals for the outstanding achievement, contribution or recognition they have brought to Austin Peay.
APSU Public Relations and Marketing recognized in region for work

Clarksville, TN – The Office of Public Relations and Marketing at Austin Peay State University has been recognized by the Council for Advancement and Support of Education (CASE) – Southeast District III for its promotional work.
The University received the Grand Award in the category of graphic design for print and digital special pieces. The printed piece selected for the honor was the 2012 Candlelight Ball invitation, produced by the APSU PR and Marketing Office. [Read more]

Clarksville, TN – Austin Peay State University will welcome the autumn season with the popular social event, Fall Fling.
Fall Fling, scheduled for Friday, September 28th at the Clarksville Country Club, is a casual alternative to the formal and popular Candlelight Ball held annually in March.
“Fall Fling is not a fundraiser but a ‘friend’ raiser with fun as our major objective,” said Nikki Loos Peterson, director of the APSU Office of Alumni Relations. “We think it will be a really great way to close out summer and welcome the fall.” [Read more]

APSU Foundation selects new members to serve for 2011

Clarksville, TN – The Austin Peay State University Foundation has selected 10 new members for 2011.
The APSU Foundation provides the structure through which the University can work directly with special volunteers and community leaders to enhance the financial well being of the University. The Foundation’s purpose is to financially support the University.
The Foundation is a separate entity and is chartered by the state, with the authority to receive private gifts in support of the University. Through its executive committee, the Foundation makes its own policy decisions. The University provides administrative support to the Foundation. [Read more]
