Artists Invited to Participate in 6th Annual ‘Frolic on Franklin’

Set for Saturday, September 17th
Clarksville, TN – Applications are now being accepted for booth space at the 6th Annual “Frolic on Franklin: A Celebration of the Arts.” The event will be held on Saturday, September 17th from 9:00am-5:00pm in the 100-block of historic Franklin Street. Artists may display, sell and demonstrate their craft.
Entries will be limited to the first 30 participants, and a $30.00, partially-refundable entry fee is required.

Applicants Sought for Citizen Police Academy

The Clarksville Police Department is taking applications for the next Citizen Police Academy (CPA) class which runs from Sept 14th – Nov 16th, 2010. Classes are held on Tuesday evenings from 6:30pm to 9:00pm.
The CPA covers all facets of the Police Department’s activities from administration to tactical operations. Citizens are given an opportunity to not only learn about Police Department functions, but also afforded a chance to participate in activities such as: police vehicle operations, firearms instruction, self-defense techniques, and use of force decision-making exercises.
