Clarksville-Montgomery County School System names Anthony Johnson as Chief Communications Officer

Montgomery County, TN – The Clarksville-Montgomery County School System (CMCSS) has selected Anthony Johnson as Chief Communications Officer (CCO) beginning April 1st, 2020. He replaces Elise Shelton who retires at the end of May.

Clarksville, TN – Hiroyuki Kobayashi, Consul-General of Japan, presented President Alisa White of Austin Peay State University (APSU) and Director Millard L. House II of the Clarksville-Montgomery County School System (CMCSS) with a $30,000 grant to support the institutions’ innovative Japanese language partnership during a gathering at President White’s home this week.
APSU Center of Excellence for the Creative Arts (CECA) Advisory Board

Clarksville, TN – The Acuff Circle of Excellence has rebranded and refined its mission to better align with the organization with which it supports, APSU’s Center of Excellence for the Creative Arts (CECA, or “seek-ah”). Beginning this fall, the Acuff Circle of Excellence is known as the CECA Advisory Board.
Rally on the Cumberland provides fun on the water with competitive spirit

Clarksville, TN – Thrilling, loved it, great event, are just some of the words participants of Saturday’s Rally on the Cumberland Canoe and Kayak Race used to describe the event. Everyone crossing the finish line had smiles on their faces and seemed to really enjoy their ride down the Cumberland River.
“We have about 32 participates this year. It is a 5 mile canoe/kayak race from the Montgomery County Conservation Club down to Freedom Point in Liberty Park,” stated Clarksville Parks and Recreation Program Superintendent Melissa Adkins. “It’s a great way to get people outdoors and to let them see the wonderful waterways that we have here in this county. It’s a great event.”
Moore Magnet Elementary School received Clarksville-Montgomery County Green Certification

Montgomery County, TN – On Thursday morning, October 10th, Moore Magnet Elementary School became the first school to become Clarksville-Montgomery County Green Certified.
Final Group of 2012 Working Towards Green Certification

Montgomery County, TN – A seventh group of participants completed the Clarksville-Montgomery County Green Certification Program (CMCGCP) workshops this month.
The group began the process in October 2012 with plans to complete their certifications by April 2013.
