Fort Campbell Federal Credit Union Hosts Welcome Home Concert at Fort Campbell

Fort Campbell, KY – Early Saturday afternoon several country music stars made their way to the division parade field to honor the soldiers of the 101st Airborne Division.
Prior to the show, Charles English with the band Rocket City said there is alot of great talent here today and they are motivated by the soldiers.
Darryl Worley, Randy Owen, Teddy Gentry, Mark Willis and Buddy Jewell along with some new comers all ready to perform for the the soldiers and their families during this holiday weekend.

Now, Gentry, and Porter-Gentry Productions, are lending a guiding hand to a very special CD that provides country music fans with an inspired assortment of new music, among which many a new favorite might be found. Washington, D.C. – Three years after the Civil War ended, on May 5th, 1868, the head of an organization of Union veterans — the Grand Army of the Republic (GAR) — established Decoration Day as a time for the nation to decorate the graves of the war dead with flowers. Maj. Gen. John A. Logan declared that Decoration Day should be observed on May 30th. It is believed that date was chosen because flowers would be in bloom all over the country.

Humane Society Donates Pet Supplies to Tornado-Stricken Shelter

Clarksville, TN – The Clarksville-Montgomery County Humane Society donated 1,042 lbs. of dog food, 1 large crate, 4 bails of straw, 4 partial rolls of fencing and 2 large bags of linens to local disaster relief volunteers, Hannah and Haly Baggett, who will transport the items to Tuscaloosa K9 Camp this weekend.

Two local women are on their way to Alabama to offer their services

Clarksville, TN – Rithy Essing and Lonzetta Cleveland are local volunteers with the American Red Cross Clarksville-Montgomery County Chapter and on a national Red Cross registry for disaster volunteers. This is their first week in a two-week volunteer stint providing mass care services in tornado-ravaged Alabama.
“We’re on a national register as mass care shelter specialists and when there is a major event somewhere in the United States, they contact people that are on the register and see if they’re available,” they said Monday.
