Clarksville Civil War RoundtableClarksville, TN – The next meeting of the Clarksville (TN) Civil War Roundtable will be on Wednesday, August 21st, 2013 at the Bone & Joint Center, 980 Professional Park Drive, right across the street from Gateway Medical Center. This is just off Dunlop Lane and Holiday Drive and only a few minutes east of Governor’s Square mall.

The meeting begins at 7:00pm and is always open to the public. Members please bring a friend or two – new recruits are always welcomed.

Southern Divisional Bass Tournament 2013 Champion named at Clarksville Marina

Clarksville Montgomery County Convention and visitors BureauClarksville, TN – The Bass Federation Inc.’s Southern Divisional Tournament, hosted by The Tennessee Bass Federation, held their final weigh-in on Friday, June 7th with David Kneece being named the 2013 overall champion.

Kneece is from Gilbert, SC and had a three-day total of 41 pounds, nine-ounces. [Read more]

Clarksville Montgomery County Convention and visitors BureauClarksville, TN – The Bass Federation Inc.’s 2013 Southern Divisional Tournament, hosted by The Tennessee Bass Federation, Inc., will be holding their final weigh-ins on Friday, June 7th at the Clarksville Marina to determine the winner of this year’s competition.

This year’s tournament has seen nearly 84 boaters from all over the South, including Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, Tennessee and North and South Carolina.

Clarksville to host Southern Division Bass Tournament

Clarksville Montgomery County Convention and visitors BureauClarksville, TN – The Tennessee Bass Federation, Inc., part of the largest Grass Roots Bass Fishing organization in the country, will be hosting the 2013 Southern Divisional Tournament at the Clarksville Marina at Liberty Park June 5th-7th.

This year’s tournament will see participants from all over the South, including Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, Tennessee and North and South Carolina. There are 175 boaters scheduled to compete in the tournament. Teams will be pre-fishing June 2nd-4th, with the actual tournament competition taking place June 5th-7th. [Read more]

Dr. Twynham, a native of Minnesota, earned her medical degree from the University of Minnesota. She completed her general surgery residency at Marshfield Clinic in Marshfield, Wisconsin, and spent a year in a Fellowship in Bariatric and Minimally Invasive Surgery at the University of Minnesota. Dr. Twynham was in private practice in Minnesota and Alabama before moving to Clarksville.

Austin Peay State University 2013 Asanbe Diversity Symposium to examine Tuskegee airmen

Austin Peay State UniversityClarksville, TN – In the early 1940s, young African-American men from across the country made their way to the town of Tuskegee in southern Alabama. It was a small, rural community with a large Army airfield set up on the outskirts of town.

The Rivers and Spires FestivalClarksville, TN – The Rivers and Spires Festival is pleased to announce that the Grammy nominated and CMA award-winning country musician Jo Dee Messina will be the featured headliner at the 2013 Festival. Messina will take the Public Square stage at 7:00pm as the main event on Saturday, April 20th, 2013. The concert is free and open to the public.

APSU Guitar Professor Stanley Yates To Perform Free Concert

Clarksville TN – Internationally-renowned concert guitarist and APSU Professor of Music Dr. Stanley Yates will present a recital of solo and chamber music at 7.30pm on Thursday, September 27th in the Concert Theater of the Music-Mass Communication Building on the APSU campus.

His program will include solo guitar music by baroque composer Giuseppe Antonio Brescianello, Czech composer Stepan Rak, and Brazilian guitarist Baden Powell de Aquino.

The concert will also include the first modern performance of a recently-discovered early nineteenth-century adaption for violin, viola and guitar of Mozart’s popular opera ‘The Magic Flute,’ assisted by APSU violin professor Dr. Emily Hanna Crane and Nashville violist Michael O’Gieblyn.
