Clarksville, TN – Altra Federal Credit Union will host two free Financial Education camps for students. Cash Camp and Money Smart Camp will be offered on June 6th and 7th, 2018 at the Sango Event Center, located at 3061 Hwy 41A S, Clarksville, TN.
Cash Camp is a two day financial education camp open to youth ages 8-10. This camp will be facilitated by Altra employees to help educate children on key financial concepts by incorporating hands-on learning experiences with activities, discussions, and other learning opportunities.
City of Clarksville receives Bus Stop Benches donation from Girl Scouts

Clarksville, TN – The City of Clarksville and Clarksville Transit System recently received a donation of six bus stop benches from a local Girl Scout troop.
Girl Scout Troop 773 decided to use the extra money they earned this year to give back to the community by teaming up with students at Rossview High School to build, stain and donate benches to be used at city bus stops.

Girl Scout Troop 773 donated six bus stop benches to the City of Clarksville after they decided to use the extra money they earned this year to give back to the community. The Junior Girl Scout troop bought the materials, then teamed up with students at Rossview High School to build, stain and donate the benches.

Clarksville, TN – United Way of the Greater Clarksville Region is uniting volunteers and rallying service teams throughout the community for its Day of Action on June 21st, 2018.
United Way’s Day of Action is an annual volunteer event that mobilizes the caring power of volunteers to make a meaningful impact in the local area. Over 200 volunteers of all ages are needed to lend their time and talents to create positive change for the Clarksville community.

APSU Board of Trustees to host summer meeting June 7th-8th

Clarksville, TN – On June 7th and 8th, 2018, the Austin Peay State University Board of Trustees will host its summer meetings on the APSU campus.
On Thursday, the Board’s Academic Policies and Programs/Student Life Committee will meet at 1:30pm, with the Business and Finance Committee, Audit Committee and Executive Committee meeting consecutively thereafter.
Montgomery Central High School celebrated 2018 Graduation at APSU’s Dunn Center
Clarksville, TN – Montgomery Central High School recently held its Class of 2018 Commencement Exercises at APSU’s Dunn Center.
After the traditional processional, followed by the presentation of colors and the national anthem, Senior Class President Kymberlee McFaul stepped up to the podium to welcome everyone to Graduation 2018.
The senior choir performed, then MCHS Principal Christy Houston was up next to introduce faculty, special guests, and the ceremony’s featured speakers, Valedictorian Jerrianna Thompson, and Salutatorian Alexis Lancaster.

Mission BBQ just donated a total of $6792.00 to the Clarksville Police Union and Clarksville Fire Fighters Association which equates to $3396.00 to each non-profit organization.
Academy for Academic Excellence holds 2018 Graduation and Awards Ceremony
Clarksville, TN – The Academy for Academic Excellence held it Class of 2018 Graduation and Awards Ceremony recently at First Baptist Church.
The evening began with a performance by the Music For Mercy Band, as friends and families of this year’s seven graduating seniors entered the venue. The band was formed after the passing of AAE’s Founder and Director Mercy Yrabedra in 2012, to honor her legacy as a musician and educator.
Clarksville Academy commencement celebrates 56 Graduating Seniors
Clarksville, TN – Clarksville Academy recently held commencement exercises in the school’s activity center for 56 graduating seniors, members of CA’s Class of 2018.
After the opening procession, and welcoming remarks, Lakeisha Allyah Phillips, Senior Class President, delivered the invocation, followed by Salutatorian, Hannah Elizabeth Flowers’ address to her fellow graduates.

Clarksville, TN – Middle College at Austin Peay State University gathered recently for its 10th commencement ceremony, as faculty, friends and family watched 62 students receive their diplomas in APSU’s Dunn Center.
Melissa Champion-Emerson, Middle College APSU Principal, took a few minutes to proudly speak of her graduating seniors.

Clarksville to dedicate Pat Head Summitt Legacy Plaza on June 15th
Pat Head Summitt Statue, life-story display will be unveiled at Freedom Point
Clarksville, TN – Clarksville civic volunteers will achieve their goal of honoring Pat Head Summitt, hometown hero and legendary University of Tennessee women’s basketball coach, with the dedication of the Pat Head Summitt Legacy Plaza at Freedom Point next month.
A bronze statue of Coach Summitt and an interpretative display of her life story will be dedicated at 3:00pm Friday, June 15th, 2018 in Clarksville’s Liberty Park. The public is invited to the event, which will include introductions of sculptor Brett Grill, members of Pat Head Summitt’s family, dignitaries and committee members, followed by a keynote speech and unveiling of the statue.

Construction continues at the future site of the Pat Head Summitt Legacy Plaza at Freedom Point. Clarksville civic volunteers will achieve their goal of honoring Pat Head Summitt, hometown hero and legendary University of Tennessee women’s basketball coach, with the dedication next month.
