Clarksville, TN – The Austin Peay State University Registrar’s Office will host its Sixth Annual Graduation Gala this October. This fall’s gala will be from 2:00pm-5:30pm on Tuesday, October 9th, 2018 and from 10:00am-2:00pm on Wednesday, October 10th, in the APSU Morgan University Center Ballroom.

Then event, which is free and open to the public, will teach attendees about severe weather and how to keep safe during a storm.

APSU GeoClub’s geodes hammer out GeoConclave championship

Clarksville, TN – For the first time ever, Austin Peay State University’s GeoClub won the top two honors of the GeoConclave, a competition that tests the academic and physical talents of six regional universities’ geology students.

APSU College of STEM clubs show off during academic rush

Clarksville, TN – The Austin Peay State University College of STEM had a cookout last week so its student clubs could show off to prospective members. The academic rush, modeled after the Greek rush week, allows new students to enjoy free food and drinks, meet faculty and student leaders and discover more than 15 STEM clubs.

Greater Nashville Regional Council Recognizes Work of Montgomery County

Montgomery County, TN – Montgomery County was recognized with two Excellence in Government Awards on September 26th, 2018 by the Greater Nashville Regional Council (GNRC) at their 2018 Annual Luncheon.
The Excellence in Community Design Award was bestowed to Montgomery County for the design and building of the Downtown Commons.

New Providence Pool opens for indoor season October 1st

Clarksville, TN – Clarksville Parks and Recreation’s New Providence Pool, the only public indoor pool in the City of Clarksville, opens for its fall and winter indoor season on Monday, October 1st, 2018.
New Providence Pool is at 168 Cunningham Lane, off Fort Campbell Boulevard.
Wendy Red Star to speak, show exhibit at APSU

Clarksville, TN – Austin Peay State University’s The New Gallery, with support from The APSU Center of Excellence for the Creative Arts and the APSU Department of Art + Design, is pleased to present Wendy Red Star: Apsáalooke Feminist, Four Seasons, White Squaw, to continue an exciting 2018-19 exhibition season.
Artist Wendy Red Star works across disciplines to explore the intersections of Native American ideologies and colonialist structures, both historically and in contemporary society.

Clarksville BBQ Bash registration deadline approaches

Clarksville, TN – Participants of all fitness levels are invited to join in the Clarksville BBQ Bash on Saturday, October 20th, 2018 to run or walk a course at Liberty Park and grab a taste of beer and barbecue at the finish line.
Each participant will receive an event T-shirt and finish with a full belly! Runners are encouraged to make a day of it and stay for the Clarksville BBQ Bash activities.
