Clarksville, TN – The name “Jane Doe” sounds a bit impersonal, so for years, one of Austin Peay State University’s (APSU) anonymous donors was known simply as “Ms. Jane.”
This alias was often whispered in the University’s Advancement Office, as if the staff worried they were revealing too much of her identity, and it wasn’t unusual for students to cry when mentioning her name.

“You find this part of yourself, and you become one with the baton – everything is silent when you’re on the field – it has always been me and my baton, it becomes an extension of yourself,” she said.

APSU, Chautauqua partner to award student residencies at New York art institution

Clarksville, TN – Starting next year, one or two Austin Peay State University (APSU) art students will spend each summer at the Visual Arts at Chautauqua Institution in New York, immersed in nine weeks of classes, workshops and one-on-one time with art mentors.
And they won’t have to pay a dime.

Clarksville, TN – It’s official – Austin Peay State University (APSU) is the fastest-growing public university in the state.
At a time when most colleges and universities are struggling to attract students, Austin Peay State University’s 4.7 percent increase far outpaced other schools and helped the University set a record enrollment this fall with 10,954 students.

Clarksville Parks and Recreation held Handmade Holidays event Saturday
Clarksville, TN – Clarksville Parks and Recreation hosted its annual Handmade Holidays this past Saturday, a 2-day indoor craft fair at the Wilma Rudolph Event Center, featuring great gift ideas for the upcoming holiday season.
Channel Lemon, a Clarksville Parks and Recreation Event Planning Specialist, says this is a juried craft market, that is limited to artisans and crafters in the area who have to meet specific requirements to be accepted.
Clarksville Parks and Recreation recently hosted its 7th Annual Handmade Holidays at Wilma Rudolph Event Center.

Clarksville, TN – Dr. Philip Short has the heart of a field biologist. He loves wading through creeks or hiking trails, conducting field research. As an assistant professor at Austin Peay State University (APSU), you might expect his office to be in the Sundquist Science Complex, but it’s not.
Short works in the Claxton Building, as a member of the Eriksson College of Education.
Two APSU colleges train science majors to be educators while also providing educational outreach opportunities to local school children.
