Mic Check Monday features Hard Luck Revelers, G.F. Lott, Sons of Mary tonight
Clarksville, TN – Mic Check Monday concert series will feature two Pop/Rock bands and a reading on June 24th, 2019 at Downtown Commons. Concerts will take place each Monday in June and July.
Opening the event at 6:00pm is Hard Luck Revelers. The group is new together, but their rhythm section is from Fleetwood Mac tribute band Gypsy. You’ll hear classic rock and dance music.
Family creates Dr. Arthur J. Eaves Memorial Diversity Endowed Scholarship to honor late APSU professor
Clarksville, TN – Austin Peay State University (APSU) Foundation recently received a gift from Charles Eaves and Elaine Eaves McCormick to create the Dr. Arthur J. Eaves Memorial Diversity Endowed Scholarship in memory of their late brother. The scholarship program is intended to aid a wide variety of APSU students.
NASA launches rocket with APSU’s first-ever space payload
Clarksville, TN – Austin Peay State University’s first-ever space payload launched on Thursday, June 20th, 2019 around 4:30am CT.
Austin Peay physics professor Dr. Justin Oelgoetz and two APSU physics students – Zach Hill and Zach Givens – built the predesigned payload during Rocket Week at NASA’s Wallops Flight Facility in Virginia.

APSU students scheduled to send payload to space for first time in school history
Clarksville, TN – Austin Peay State University has a payload bound for space. This is a first in APSU’s 92-year history.
Austin Peay State University physics professor Dr. Justin Oelgoetz made the announcement on Facebook Tuesday: “APSU’s first payload bound for space just passed inspection and has been integrated into the rocket’s payload stack.”

CMCSS names Jessica Peppard as Principal of Northwest High School
Montgomery County, TN – Clarksvile-Montgomery County School System (CMCSS) has announces that Jessica Peppard, who has served as assistant principal at Northwest High School, has been named principal of her alma mater.
Clarksville Parks and Recreation accepting registration for Fall Adult Softball Leagues
Clarksville, TN – Clarksville Parks and Recreation Department is currently taking registrations for fall adult softball with leagues open to men and women 18 and older.
League play begins the week of August 11th at Heritage Park Softball Complex, 1241 Peachers Mill Road.

Austin Peay State University graduates to spend summer at renowned art institute
Clarksville, TN – Two recent Austin Peay State University (APSU) graduates will step through the doors of a prestigious art institute – the Visual Arts at Chautauqua Institution – in western New York later this week.

Austin Peay, National Guard partner on tuition deferment program
Clarksville, TN – On Monday, June 17th, 2019, Austin Peay State University (APSU) and the Tennessee Army National Guard announced they’re partnering on a special tuition deferment program for Guard members.

Austin Peay State University hosting Summer Graduation Gala July 2nd
Clarksville, TN – On Tuesday, July 2nd, the Austin Peay State University (APSU) Registrar’s Office will host the Summer 2019 Graduation Gala, and all APSU students participating in the Summer commencement ceremony in August are encouraged to attend this important, celebratory event from 10:00am-2:00pm in the Morgan University Center Ballroom.
Jenkins Family creates two new scholarships to benefit APSU students
Clarksville, TN – The Austin Peay State University (APSU) Foundation received two generous gifts from Don Jenkins and Sandy Jenkins to establish the Jenkins Family PELP Endowment and the Jenkins Family Finish Line Scholarship. Their generosity will provide financial aid for many deserving students.
