USAA January Family Event

Morale, Welfare and RecreationUSAA January Family EventFort Campbell, KY – Sugar and spice and everything nice, that is what the USAA January Family event is made of. Come out to Sportsman’s Lodge on January 8th from 12 noon until 4:00pm for an afternoon full of fun for the whole Family. Enjoy indoor fun, free crafts and face frosting (painting) for the children.

Topping off this day full of sweet fun will be a performance from Rendezvous Groove, the 101st Air Assault Division Band. Food and beverage will be available for purchase.

Allied health care, the largest employment sector in the U.S. today, will only continue to grow as baby boomers age and technology helps people live longer lives.

Austin Peay State University’s Center for Extended and Distance Education, in partnership with Boston Reed College, is pleased to announce that a new allied health care training program will be offered in spring of 2011. Clarksville Transit System Offers 23rd annual “Operation Safe Ride”

Clarksville Transit SystemClarksville, TN – For the 23rd straight year, the Clarksville Transit System will offer free bus rides on New Year’s Eve, into the early morning hours of New Year’s Day. Operation Safe Ride is a five-hour service offering free rides home from any public or private location within the Clarksville city limits. The number to call to get a free ride home is 931-553-2429.

“Our single purpose with this program is to help prevent drunk driving in our region,” said Clarksville Transit Director Jimmy Smith. “We continue to offer Operation Safe Ride to the Clarksville community as a way to give back and help keep our citizens and roadways safe during a key evening that can be particularly hazardous for many.” [Read more]

Clarksville Parks and RecreationClarksville, TN – The City of Clarksville Parks & Recreation is looking forward to the opening of the much anticipated Indoor Aquatic Center. Beginning the first part of the year, New Providence Pool, located on Cunningham Lane, will get a new look- it will be sheltered with a bubble like dome to allow for year-round use.

The Indoor Aquatic Center was originally scheduled to open to the public, January 3rd, 2011, but due to weather delays, the center will open to the public with a Dive in the Dome party, January 8th, 2011.
