Fort Campbell Soldiers receive Clarksville Mayor’s Certificates

City of ClarksvilleClarksville, TN – Two Fort Campbell soldiers, Scott Puckett and Joseph Demille, received Mayor’s Certificates for taking action and assisting law enforcement in capturing burglars in December 2011.

On December 27th, 2011, a little after midnight Joseph Demille caught three teenagers breaking into vehicles in his neighborhood. He took decisive action and detained the men until Clarksville Police arrived.

UT Extension Launches Online Domestic Kitchen Certification Course

UT Extension OfficeKnoxville, TN – Earning certification to prepare, manufacture and sell certain foods from a home kitchen is now more convenient for Tennesseans thanks to a new online training module from University of Tennessee Extension.

Domestic Kitchen Food Safety Training, which launched Wednesday, February 1st, provides instruction centered around the state’s Domestic Kitchen Rule. The rule allows people to commercially prepare, manufacture and sell non-potentially hazardous foods in the home while ensuring the public’s health is protected. [Read more]

Austin Peay State University to begin new Center for the Study of Military Life

The purpose of this center is to support research activities that seek to develop a more in-depth understanding of all aspects of military life as they impact individual service members, military families and communities and nation.

Humane Society of Clarksville – Montgomery County (HSCMC)Clarksville, TN – The Humane Society of Clarksville-Montgomery County is very proud to be partnering with the wonderful students and teachers of Rossview Elementary School who will be making Valentines cards for chained dogs in our community.

Our goal is to mail 200 cards. This campaign is modeled after the Dogs Deserve Better initiative, which has been successful nationwide in reaching out to families of chained dogs and making a difference in the lives of so many of those animals.

Clarksville City Councilman Nick Steward to make Special Announcement

Nick StewardClarksville, TN – Clarksville City Councilman Nick Steward will hold a public meeting and press conference tomorrow, the 1st of February, 2012. This meeting will be held at the offices of Keller Williams Realty located at 2271 Wilma Rudolph Boulevard in Clarksville. It will began at 12:30pm and will last for approximately 20 minutes.

Councilman Steward will discuss his plans to run for State House District 74 during the 2012 election cycle. Please join Nick for this special occasion.

Austin Peay State University to host regional Tennessee History Day Competition on February 22nd

Austin Peay State UniversityClarksville, TN – On February 22nd, about 300 of the top middle and high school history students in the area will converge on Austin Peay State University for a Tennessee History Day Competition. The local campus was recently selected as the host site for the newly-formed North Middle Tennessee district of the highly-regarded national competition.

Students from surrounding counties will visit APSU that Wednesday to participate in a wide range of categories, including performance, websites, posters, papers and documentary film, all centered around this year’s theme of Revolution, Reaction and Reform. The winners in each category will go on to the state competition in Nashville in April. Students who place in that event will go on to the National History Day Competition in College Park, MD. Pinnacle Family Entertainment Center Fundraiser for Brady Conatser a Success

Brady ConatserClarksville, TN – There was a rundraising event for Brady Conatser held at the Pinnacle Family Entertainment Center Saturday, January 28th. Those that came out were able to bowl from 9:00am to 11:00am for only $7.00. Everyone had a really good time and helped raise money for Brady’s rehabilitation.

“I just wanted to thank everyone for coming out this morning and supporting Brady.” said Tiffany Perry, Conatser’s cousin and organizer of the event.
