Clarksville Parks and Recreation’s Youth Recreation Leagues to kick off with Opening Ceremony this Saturday
Clarksville, TN – The City of Clarksville Parks and Recreation Department’s Youth Recreation Leagues will kick off the season with an opening ceremony at 10:00am June 2nd at Heritage Park.

Clarksville, TN – Several faculty and staff members at Austin Peay State University announce their recent professional and scholarly activities.
Dr. Victoria McCarthy and Dr. Robyn Hulsart, both associate professors of professional studies, won best conference paper at the May 2012 conference of The Academic Forum. The title of their paper was “A Crisis Management Plan for Ethical Misconduct and Financial Fraud.” [Read more]

Annual Candle Light Vigil honors those still missing in action from Vietnam
Clarksville, TN – It is a solemn occasion when a nation gathers together to honor its soldiers as we do each year on Memorial Day. It is important not only to honor those who lived to come home, but even more importantly to remember those who did not.
This was a solemn year as there remains of two soldiers who had been missing in action had been returned, that leaves 30 from the State of Tennessee who have yet to return home. Each one was honored in a ceremony held in front of the William O. Beach Civic Center at Veterans Plaza in Clarksville Tennessee on Sunday evening.
APSU gets International Recognition for Student Success Initiative

More than a year ago, APSU launched Degree Compass, a course recommendation system to help students stay on track toward graduation by. It was dubbed “the Netflix effect” because it provides students with personalized recommendations based on their academic transcript, similar to the way Netflix makes movie suggestions to customers. Clarksville, TN – The City of Clarksville Parks and Recreation Department Summer Youth Program will begin June 4th with the opening of program sites and will end July 13th.

Clarksville, TN – Saturday, June 2nd is National Trails Day! The Clarksville Parks and Recreation Department and “Friends of the Clarksville Greenway” are celebrating with a clean-up from 8:00am to 10:00am at the Clarksville Greenway, located at 1101 Pollard Road.

Austin Peay State University Public Relations wins 5 awards at 2012 TCPRA

Clarksville, TN – The Office of Public Relations and Marketing at Austin Peay State University won five awards during the Tennessee College Public Relations Association spring conference and awards contest held May 17th-18th at Middle Tennessee State University.
TCPRA – an alliance of communicators across the state representing public and private colleges and universities, technical schools, technology centers and community colleges – awarded gold, silver and bronze distinctions in various writing, design, publication and photography categories.
