Clarksville, TN – The next meeting of the Clarksville (TN) Civil War Roundtable will be on Wednesday, October 16th, 2013 at the Bone & Joint Center, 980 Professional Park Drive, right across the street from Gateway Hospital.
This is just off Dunlop Lane and Holiday Drive and only a few minutes east of Governor’s Square mall. The meeting begins at 7:00pm and is always open to the public. Members please bring a friend or two – new recruits are always welcomed.

APSU choral program continues busy season with October 22nd Concert
Clarksville, TN – This fall is shaping up to be a busy semester for Austin Peay State University Choral Activities. In early September, the University’s three choral groups – Vocal Ease, University Choir and Chamber Singers – performed for the Tennessee Board of Regents dinner at APSU.
A few weeks later, the Chamber Singers traveled to Nashville for a performance at the Schermerhorn Symphony Center as part of the Nashville Symphony’s Free Day of Music event.
Clarksville-Montgomery County Public Library Closed Friday, October 11th
Clarksville, TN – The Clarksville-Montgomery County Public Library will be closed all day Friday the 11th of October for Staff Training.
Customers are requested to take any items they wish to return that day to the rear book return located behind the library. Returned items will not be taken at the front entrance on Friday. [Read more]

Clarksville, TN – The City of Clarksville’s Parks & Recreation department invites the citizens of Clarksville to a Public Input Workshop, Tuesday, October 15th, 2013 from 5:30pm to 6:30pm at the Parks and Recreation Office Conference Room located at 104 Public Square.

Clarksville, TN – Governor’s Square Mall will be hosting Military Appreciation Weekend Saturday, October 12th – Sunday, October 13th.
Active duty and retired military members and their families are asked to show their military I.D. at the Customer Service Center in front of Dillard’s where they will be issued a special shopping pass.
This shopping pass will entitle shoppers to certain discounts available throughout the weekend at participating retailers.
APSU employees share recent professional developments, activities
Clarksville, TN – Faculty and staff members at Austin Peay State University recently announced a number of publications, conferences and credentials as part of their professional and scholarly activities.

APSU Master Plan wins outstanding design award
Clarksville, TN – Earlier this year, Austin Peay State University unveiled its 2013 Master Plan, which projects how the campus is expected to grow and develop over the next 15 years.

APSU creates military tuition assistance scholarship to help students impacted by Federal Government shutdown
Clarksville, TN – Last Friday, Austin Peay State University officials distributed an email to their active duty military students, letting them know plans were being put in place to keep them in school regardless of the temporary shutdown of Tuition Assistance (TA), a benefit provided by the military to cover tuition expenses incurred by active duty military pursuing college credit.
On Monday, after notification was sent stating the federal budget had not passed, APSU president Tim Hall initiated an effort to implement a scholarship to offset the shutdown of TA. [Read more]
