Clarksville City Saver book helps raise money for Clarksville Montgomery County School System
Local Coupon Book Continues In The Fifth Year To Help Clarksville Schools Raise Money and Local Families With Big Savings
Clarksville, TN – For the fifth consecutive year, The Clarksville-Montgomery County School System and Education Foundation have partnered together to sponsor the City Saver Education Funding Campaign that will run now until February 13th, 2015.
Last year’s campaign raised over $200,000 for local schools and the Education Foundation.
During this year’s campaign, all Clarksville-Montgomery County elementary and middle school students will be selling the new 2015 Clarksville City Saver coupon book, which contains thousands of dollars in savings at over 200 local favorite restaurants, attractions and retail stores.
Register now for Swimming Lessons to be held in February
Clarksville, TN – Every month, the Indoor Aquatic Center offers five comprehensive levels of swimming lessons as well as Mommy & Me, Preschool, Adult and Adaptive lessons to the public! The next two-week session will be held February 2nd-12th. Cost is $35.00 per session, or $15.00 with a pool pass.
Clarksville Parks and Recreation reminds everyone that registration for Spring Softball and Kickball begins January 26th
Clarksville, TN – Clarksville Parks and Recreation is gearing up for spring and summer adult leagues! This year, teams of those 18 and older can sign up for not only a variety of softball leagues, but an adult kickball league as well!
Registration is set to begin January 26th, with a league meeting to be held at 3:00pm on January 24th at the Burt-Cobb Community Center for both leagues.
APSU University Department of Art presents “Sound”, an art exhibit at the Trahern Gallery
Clarksville, TN – Inviting museum-goers to use their ears as much as their eyes is quickly gaining traction in the art community. Much like using color on a physical canvas, sound artists use the noises that exist around us to fill space and grab the attention of the listener in a way no different than a sculpture, painting or mosaic.
Students at Austin Peay State University, as well as the community at large, will have an opportunity to explore this branch of contemporary art when the APSU Department of Art presents “SOUND”, an exhibition of sound art held at the APSU Trahern Gallery from January 20th-February 6th.
Clarksville Parks and Recreation seeks vendors for 3rd Annual Chocolate Affair
Clarksville, TN – The 3rd Annual Chocolate Affair hosted by Clarksville Parks and Recreation is a festive occasion that provides an opportunity for Clarksville’s chocolate-lovers to sample products and enjoy a fun social event. This year it will be held on Saturday, February 7th, 2015, at the Wilma Rudolph Event Center.

Clarksville, TN – There’s still time to get in on the Kleeman Community Center’s Fun Interval Training program in 2015! F.I.T. starts back up for a third round on January 26th, and continues through March 26th at the Kleeman Center, located at 166 Cunningham Lane.
Two honored during APSU Candlelight Ball Award Luncheon
Clarksville, TN – Austin Peay State University’s 31st Annual Candlelight Ball is just around the corner, and to help announce the event, two individuals were honored and recognized during a luncheon held Tuesday, January 13th.
The Wendell H. Gilbert Award and the Spirit of Austin Peay Award were presented to two individuals for the outstanding achievement, contribution or recognition they have brought to Austin Peay.

APSU Diversity Committee to host meal packaging event on MLK Jr. Day
Clarksville, TN – More than 500 student volunteers will gather on the campus of Austin Peay State University Friday, January 30th for the Martin Luther King Jr. Day of Service.
In honor of the life and legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., volunteers will do their part to help alleviate hunger in a third-world country with a meal-packaging event hosted by the APSU Diversity Committee and Feed My Starving Children. The event will take place from 10:00am-5:30pm at the Foy Fitness and Recreation Center.
Lend Lease (US) Community Fund offers Scholarship Opportunity to Fort Campbell High School Seniors
Fort Campbell, KY – A special scholarship opportunity is now available to sons and daughters of Service Members who live in a Lend Lease privatized military community, like Campbell Crossing, and attend the installation’s DoDEA high school.
Sponsored by Lend Lease (US) Community Fund, BlueStar Scholarships will award scholarships up to $5,000 to eligible high school seniors. The BlueStar Scholarships program is now open and accepting applications through April 1st, 2015.
