Montgomery County, TN – The Clarksville Montgomery County School System announces that Regina Lyle has been selected to serve as the principal of Northeast Elementary School, following Gina Biter’s retirement.
Clarksville Parks and Recreation gears up for the summer season at the pools
Clarksville, TN – Now that the Indoor Aquatic Center is closed for the summer season, the Clarksville Parks and Recreation Department will open four of their public pools on Saturday, May 23rd.
Pool pass sales, swim lesson registration and other aquatic programming registration are currently underway!
APSU students place first in TVA Investment Challenge
Clarksville, TN – If you’re looking for someone to manage your investments, the Tennessee Valley Authority would probably recommend you pick a graduate of the Austin Peay State University College of Business.
Every year, the government owned utility hosts its Investment Challenge, which has student investment teams from 25 universities competing to manage and earn the highest return for TVA funds. During the competition, students develop long-term investment strategies, place trades and provide performance reports to TVA.
Junior Ranger Day Camp at Dunbar Cave State Natural Area
Clarksville, TN – It is our pleasure to announce Dunbar Cave State Natural Area’s second annual Junior Ranger Day Camp. This camp is designed for children ages 8 and 9 years old. Programs will help children build a better relationship with the great outdoors and have fun, while learning.
Camp will be held from 9:00am to 12:00pm, Wednesday – Friday, June 17th – 19th. Participants must attend all three days to earn a Tennessee State Parks Jr. Ranger certificate and badge.
Governor’s Square Mall Toddler Tuesdays with Jam with Jamie and Friends
New Musical Playgroup Offered for Toddlers at Governor’s Square Mall
Clarksville, TN – There’s a new musical playgroup program for toddlers at Governor’s Square Mall that is being offered by Jam with Jamie and Friends and HIP Events on Tuesdays at 11:00am and 1:00pm in the Community Room. The Community Room is located at the Main Entrance next to GNC.
Jam with Jamie and Friends is a group of children’s musicians who provide musical entertainment for playgroups and birthday parties. They provide interactive jam sessions with all the classic kid favorites and oldies, rock, and top 40 tunes.
APSU professor Ann Silverberg awarded Fulbright Scholarship for research

Following the Chinese Cultural Revolution of the 1960s, however, the revival of traditional folk music paved the way for Chinese people to rediscover the instruments that are unique to their culture.

Montgomery County, TN – The Montgomery County Veterans Service Organization is hosting its annual Memorial Day Ceremony at 10:00am, May 25th, at Veterans Memorial Park, Clarksville.
City and county officials, as well as MCVSO staff will give remarks, with the keynote address given by retired Army Lieutenant Colonel Wendell Cheek, who currently serves as Deputy Commissioner of the Tennessee Department of Veterans Affairs.
Acuff Circle to honor Mabrys at Jazz in June event
Clarksville, TN – The Acuff Circle of Excellence will honor George and Sharon Mabry at the organization’s summertime Jazz in June on June 12th. The event, from 5:30pm to 7:00pm, will be at Beachaven Vineyards and Winery, and the public is invited.
The Circle, a non-profit organization affiliated with the Austin Peay State University Foundation, serves as a patron society of the University’s Center of Excellence for the Creative Arts, and advances the importance of arts and culture at the University and in the community. The endowed Acuff Circle of Excellence Arts Scholarship is awarded each year to an APSU student majoring in the fine arts.
APSU business student earns fellowship to national leadership academy
Clarksville, TN – The Waycross Conference and Retreat Center in Morgantown, Indiana, looks like an idyllic summer camp with 410 acres of woods and streams surrounding the rustic, wood shingle buildings.
This summer, that campus will become home to the nation’s very best undergraduate business students as it hosts the 2015 Alpha Kappa Psi Leadership Academy.
