Clarksville, TN – Is your child interested in playing basketball this winter? The Clarksville Parks and Recreation Department is proud to offer a co-ed youth basketball league for boys and girls ages 7 to 15.
Volunteer coaches will work with children to improve individual skills in dribbling, passing, and shooting, while instilling values in teamwork and sportsmanship.
Boys and girls ages 7-15 are invited by Clarksville Parks and Recreation to join in the fun.

Clarksville, TN – The City of Clarksville’s Fort Defiance Interpretive Center, located at 120 Duncan Street, is excited to present “Sevier Days,” an 18th century, pre-Civil War event from 9:00am to 1:00pm on Friday, September 14th, 2018 (school groups only) and 10:00am to 3:00pm on Saturday, September 15th (open to the public).

9/11 Pillars of Hope Public Art display to be at Downtown Commons

Clarksville, TN – On Thursday, September 6th, 2018, Arts for Hearts Clarksville, Montgomery County Parks and Recreation staff, and volunteers will setup the “Pillars of Hope” Honoring our Heroes through Art at the Downtown Commons, 215 Legions Street. The Pillars of Hope will be on display from 11:00am-7:00pm.
The Pillars of Hope is a commemorative piece of public art created by our community to honor and remember those who serve. The project began in 2012, a collaborative project organized by Rita Arancibia, Volunteer Clarksville, Hands on Nashville , APSU Ceramics Department, with support from the Corporation for National and Community Service and the Clarksville Montgomery County Arts and Heritage Development Council.

In keeping with the theatre’s traditional pay-what-you-can opening night, all tickets not pre-sold at the regular ticket price will go on sale at 7:30pm Friday evening for a $5.00 minimum donation.

Clarksville, TN – The Community School of the Arts at Austin Peay State University spans all age groups and skill levels, and the offerings continue to grow.
“We’re offering classes for everyone, from little kids to adults, beginner to intermediate to advanced. Our goal, our mission is really being put into practice,” said Dr. Janice Crews, director of APSU Center for Excellence of the Creative Arts (CECA), which runs the school.
Now is your chance to sign up for the next set of Community School of the Arts at Austin Peay State University painting, music, dance, theater and writing classes that begins September 10th.

Tremendous support is needed for local nonprofits that join hands to enhance our collective quality of life and lift up those struggling. United Way is proud to open this year’s giving campaign season with the Roxy, one those organizations and a valuable asset in our region,” said Ginna Holleman, local United Way CEO.

The seven artists from across the U.S. represented in the exhibition include Linda Brandon, Elena Burykina, Alia El-Bermani, Gaela Erwin, Ann Piper, Tonja Sell, and Pamela Wilson.
