Visit Clarksville Announces New Free Summer Music Series
Clarksville, TN – Visit Clarksville and CDE Lightband presents Mic Check Monday at Downtown Commons this summer. Mic Check Monday is a new free concert series. Concerts will take place each Monday in June and July.
Central Civitan held their annual BBQ Chicken Dinner fundraiser, Saturday
Cunningham, TN – It was overcast and looked like rain this past Saturday, April 27th for the Central Civitan annual BBQ Chicken Dinner fundraiser. The rain held off and it turned into a great day for the event.
“It looked like it might rain at first, but it didn’t. It was a nice cool day for our fundraiser,” stated Larry Pitts with Central Civitan.
The dinners were take home only and included a 1/2 chicken, with baked beans, slaw, and a beverage. Each adult plate was just $8.00. Pick up was at the Central Civitan building located between Hwy 13 and Alonzo Place in Cunningham, TN.
Friends of Fort Defiance to hold “March To The Past” on Saturday, May 4th
Clarksville, TN – On Saturday, May 4th, 2019, the Friends of Fort Defiance will host their annual March To The Past living history event at Fort Defiance in Clarksville from 10:00am to 3:00pm.
Live cannon demonstrations, 19th-century music performed by a Cumberland Winds ensemble, period reenactors, and numerous displays and presenters will all be part of this big event.

Numerous exhibits on civilian and military life in the 19th century, artillery demonstrations and more at Clarksville’s historic Fort Defiance Civil War Park and Interpretive Center.

Manna Café Ministries’ 2019 Golf Scramble set for June 1st
Clarksville, TN – Manna Café’s 2019 Golf Scramble is happening this year on June 1st. The event will shotgun at 8:30am at Swan Lake Golf Course.
The cost is only $60.00 to play. The ticket covers the game, golf cart, lunch, and door prizes!

Cumberland Winds Members in Recital at the Roxy Regional Theatre on Friday, May 3rd
Clarksville, TN – While many are familiar with their full band performances, the Cumberland Winds will feature the fine musicians from our community who make up the group during a recital at the Roxy Regional Theatre on Friday, May 3rd, 2019 at 7:30pm.
Featuring soloists and small ensembles performing varied styles and types of music in the intimate setting of the Roxy Regional Theatre, the evening will include performances by Tamera Deichert and Yvonne Kendall on flute duet, Michael Stewart and Emmanuel Mejeun on French horn duet, and Patricia Ritter and Yvonne Kendall on harp and flute duet, as well as pieces by Cumberland Winds’ Woodwind, Saxophone and Clarinet Quartets. Musical direction will be provided by Mike Ritter.
Historic Collinsville kicks off 2019 with Spring Homecoming, Easter Extravaganza

Located just outside Clarksville, near the community of Southside, Historic Collinsville is a recreated village/living history museum that offers visitors a glimpse into mid 19th century life.

Cold, Wet Weather doesn’t slow down Hilltop Supermarket’s 24th annual Easter Egg Hunt
Clarksville, TN – Hundreds of people and children braved the cold, wet weather to take part in Hilltop Supermarket’s 24th annual Easter Egg Hunt on Saturday, April 20th, 2019. Due to the wet ground, the festivities and activities before the Easter Egg Hunt had to be canceled.
The egg hunt started at 2:00pm sharp.
“The weather hurt a little bit. We had to shutdown the activities just because of the mud and we were afraid someone could get hurt,” Cody Jackson said. “We still had a large turnout. We’re thankful.”
Yellow Creek Baptist Church’s Community Easter Egg Hunt a success despite cold weather
Cumberland City, TN – It was cold, it was damp, but that did not stop hundreds of people from turning out for the Yellow Creek Baptist Church annual Community Easter Egg Hunt. The event was held Saturday, April 20th, 2019 at 10:00am. 260 children registered for the event.
“I was so tickled with the crowd today with the weather the way it was,” said Brother Phillip Chambers, Senior Pastor. “It was cold and rainy, but the rain held off for the Easter Egg Hunt.”
